My Current Favorite Shows! (Not Anime)

Happy Tuesday/Wednesday and welcome to another blog post! I’ve been thinking recently and I noticed that all I talk about when it comes to entertainment is anime. But believe it or not, as much as I love finding new anime to watch and I have tons and tons of anime blog post ideas, I do watch more shows than just anime! So today I thought I would share some of my favorites with you! So without further ado, here are my current favorite tv shows that I binge when I’m not watching anime!

Stranger Things

The first show is, of course, Netflix’s Stranger Things. I can not get enough of this show. I didn’t watch season 1 until a few months after it came out on Netflix, but once I started watching it, my then-roommate and I binge-watched the whole show. Every time they asked me if I wanted to watch something I would always say “Stranger Things please.” So when I heard that season two was coming out I couldn’t wait because I was already getting withdrawals. I got Netflix myself so I could watch it right away when it came out. The day finally came and that’s what I did. I finished season 2 in a matter of days and even watched the Beyond Stranger Things show after I finished the season and wanted more. That just shows how good the show is if you finish a show and just want more.

So why do I love this show so much? The story has a terrific sense of mystery. Stranger Things lays out a clear story and then gives us enough answers to makes viewers satisfied but also holds back enough to keep us wanting more. It gives you so much nostalgia, but still is its own show. From the awesome 80’s music played to the references given like The Goonies and E.T., Stranger Things gives you so much nostalgia but at the same time, it has its own story to tell. The Characters are perfect. You are introduced to all of these characters and as the season goes on they all have a story to tell. And then in season two after all the characters are established (plus some new characters) you are able to see the growth in the characters and development in them as well. Like I said they all have a story to tell but are all somehow tied together at the end of the seasons. The characters wouldn’t have been brought to life if it wasn’t for the casting. Each actor portrays the character perfectly, it was like they were meant to play their characters. You can tell the cast cares about the characters and each other on and off the screen. I mean who doesn’t love the kids of Stranger Things. And not to spoil any of it for the readers who haven’t watched it yet… but Steve Harrington. Watch both seasons then let me know what you think of him.

Westworld

Now that I’ve ranted forever about Stranger Things, let’s move on to the next show and that is HBO’s Westworld. Westworld is a science fiction western thriller that takes place in the fictional Westworld, a technologically advanced Wild West-themed amusement park populated by android hosts. The amusement park caters towards high-paying guests who need to escape from their reality and may indulge in whatever they want in the park without fear of retaliation from the hosts. But what happens when these hosts start to feel more than what they are programmed. What if they start to feel more human? This show portrays what happens when the hosts start retaliating against this crazy world of Westworld and the ones who run it.
Now I was introduced to Westworld in a weird way. I was at my old place and my then-roommate had a friend over who couldn’t stop talking about Westworld. They were watching episodes and even though I was in the same room while it was on I was too busy working on my laptop to pay attention. But every time I looked up I couldn’t help but be drawn to the characters and the story. Weeks of them watching the show and me catching some parts I finally stopped working on things while the show was one and finally started putting all of my attention into watching the show. And I am so glad I did because I love it.

I will admit it, if you plan on watching this show you need to watch it from the very beginning and pay attention to it (don’t distract yourself) because a lot happens and it switches things (not to spoil anything) on you a bunch so you can get lost and very confused all at once, which happened to me. I had to ask a lot of questions and was and still confused on one thing. Though I was lost I still fell in love with the characters and the story. There are so many twists and turns that you didn’t expect from the show but makes it so much greater.

I can’t wait to see what season 2 has in store for the characters and I made it a goal to watch the episodes I missed and rewatch the season 1 so I’m not as lost this time around!

Vikings

The last favorite show I want to talk about is History’s Vikings. Vikings is about a Viking named Ragnar Lothbrok who rises from being just a farmer to the most well-known name in Viking history.

I was shown this show when season 3 was just starting but ended up binge-watching from the beginning. Now season 5 is beginning to air on History Channel and I can’t wait to start watching it again.

Conclusion

So those are my current favorite TV Shows! As you can tell, some has a more impact but each show is awesome in their own way. What are your current favorite tv shows? What show should I binge watch next? Let me know in the comments below as well as ideas for my next blog post, I am always open to new ideas! I hope you guys are having a great week and I will see you in the next post!
