Smokey Eye Glam Tutorial! // Valentine’s Day Special Part 2!

Happy Wednesday and welcome to another blog post! It’s Valentine’s Day! Whether you are celebrating the holiday alone, with a significant other, with friends, or not at all (cause it’s a Wednesday ha) I hope you all remember that it’s not just about getting a Valentine, but feeling the love in your heart and appreciating the loved ones and things around you. Yesterday I kicked off this Valentine’s Day Special with a makeup review on the new Love You So Mochi Eyeshadow Palette and Love You So Mochi Highlighting Palette from NYX and today I’m going to use some of those colors in a makeup tutorial! I’ve been really working on getting better at creating eyeshadow looks and I’ve always loved smokey eyes, so after watching a bunch of makeup tutorials and learning some tricks I thought I would try it out for myself! So let’s get right into it! Here is Part 2 of my Valentine’s Day Special, a Smokey Eye Glam Tutorial!

Step 1: Face Prepped

I already have Primer, foundation, concealer, powder, and eyebrows on. If you want to see how I got to this (minus the concealer and powder) go to my first makeup tutorial!

Step 2: Eyeshadow Primer

To prime my eyes, I’m using my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original and using my fingers to rub in the potion on my eyes.

Step 3: The Jaclyn Hill Trick

Before we dip into the colors, I was watching a makeup tutorial from Jaclyn Hill and I saw her draw a line of powder under her eyes to catch fall out and create a stopping point for the eyeshadow. I thought that was a brilliant trick because I always have an issue of when the eyeshadow looks out of control and i can never create a perfect line so I’m using my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder and one of my mini beauty blenders to create the line on the side of my eyes.

Step 4: Add Base Color

For my base color I am going in the lightest matte color on the Love You So Mochi Palette and applying that with the Morphe M433 brush all over my lid.

Step 5: Starting the Smokey Eye

To start the smokey eye, I am using the Morphe M441 brush and going into “Splendid” from my current favorite palette, the Morphe 9A Always Golden Palette, putting it on the outer corner of my eyelid and blending it up and to the middle of my eyelid.

Step 6: Add A Transition Color

Using the same M441 brush, I am next going into “Aware” from the same palette and doing the same with the first color but not blending it as high as “Splendid”. This second color acts as a transition color for the smokey eye.

Tip: Blend Blend Blend

Make sure you always take the time to blend the color before moving on to the next step. When there is no more color on your brush, use the same brush to blend blend blend until you are happy with how it looks.

Step 7: Deepen the Crease

Using the M441 brush I am now going to “Taken” from the Morphe palette and deeping the crease and to make the look more smokey.

After deepening the crease I used my M510 brush and blended all of them to give it more of a smokey deep look and to blur the lines. This whole look only took 3 brushes, which I love!

Step 8: Add Some Gold!

Next, it’s time to add color. Going into the Love You So Mochi Palette I am going to the gold color with my finger and putting it on the middle and inner part of my eyelid.

Step 9: Add More Glitter!

And because it’s Valentine’s day, I am using them more Glitter Gold color and topping the gold with more glitter!

Step 10: Under Eyes

Using any brush I am brushing the powder from my cheeks and using the M433 brush to add a mix between “Aware” and “Taken” under my bottom lashes, connecting the top color to the bottom color.

Step 11: Eyeliner

I am still loving the NYX Epic Ink Liner and using that to line my eyes and make a wing at the end.

Step 12: Add Fake Lashes

Another thing I’ve gotten into recently and now can’t have a makeup look without are false lashes. For an everyday look, I have natural looking lashes to make my normal lashes longer and fuller but since it’s Valentine’s Day I wanted them to look big and even fuller!

The lashes I am using for this look are the “Exaggerate” lashes from Eylure Lashes. I got these from Target and they give me that volume and fullness I want while feeling comfortable wearing them.

The glue I used is the Duo Brush-On Adhesive. If you are a beginner at lashes like I am the brush on is so much better to use than the squeeze because it gives you more control and doesn’t make a mess.

Step 13 and 14: Mascara and Blush

For Mascara, I used my two current favorite mascaras, Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara to blend my natural lashes with the falsies and Maybelline Lash Sensational Curvitude for my lower lash line because I love how close the small brush can get to my waterline.

I also forgot to take a picture until after blush, but the blush I am using is the Amazonian Clay Blush in “Paartty”. I got this little mini blush as a birthday gift from Sephora and I love the color for this glam look.

Step 15: Highlight!

Now my favorite part, and that is highlighting! Using the 3rd color on the Love You So Mochi Palette I am using my finger to highlight my cheekbones, under my brow, my nose, and my cupid’s bow. You can just do one layer or layer it over until you are content. If aliens were looking down from space I want them to find me with this highlighter on. That’s how much highlighter I like on.

Step 16: Lipstick

I’ve been waiting for an occasion to wear this lipstick and the lipstick of choice for this Valentine’s Day Glam look is the Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color. This color is so long-lasting and stays matte all day. When you first put it on it looks like a bright red but when it dries it becomes a little darker which I love and you will see soon.

Step 17: Finishing Touches

Now it’s time to let your hair down and show your love for pizza and the look is complete! Now time for some photos!

After finishing the look I sat by the window and enjoyed the natural lighting so I took some photos and loved how they turned out as well! You can see the Fenty Beauty more settled and a little more of a deep red than a bright red.

Conclusion

So that’s my Smokey Eye Glam Look For Valentine’s Day! I hope you enjoyed this makeup tutorial as much as I did planning and putting it together! Would you want to see more makeup tutorials from me?
