My Current Favorite Shows! (Not Anime)

Happy Tuesday/Wednesday and welcome to another blog post! I’ve been thinking recently and I noticed that all I talk about when it comes to entertainment is anime. But believe it or not, as much as I love finding new anime to watch and I have tons and tons of anime blog post ideas, I do watch more shows than just anime! So today I thought I would share some of my favorites with you! So without further ado, here are my current favorite tv shows that I binge when I’m not watching anime!

Stranger Things

The first show is, of course, Netflix’s Stranger Things. I can not get enough of this show. I didn’t watch season 1 until a few months after it came out on Netflix, but once I started watching it, my then-roommate and I binge-watched the whole show. Every time they asked me if I wanted to watch something I would always say “Stranger Things please.” So when I heard that season two was coming out I couldn’t wait because I was already getting withdrawls. I got Netflix myself so I could watch it right away when it came out. The day finally came and that’s what I did. I finished season 2 in a matter of days and even watched the Beyond Stranger Things show after I finished the season and wanted more. That just shows how good the show is if you finish a show and just want more.

So why do I love this show so much? The story has a terrific sense of mystery. Stranger Things lays out a clear story and then gives us enough answers to makes viewers satisfied but also holds back enough to keep us wanting more. It gives you so much nostalgia, but still is it’s own show. From the awesome 80’s music played to the references given like The Goonies and E.T., Stranger Things gives you so much nostalgia but at the same time it has its own story to tell. The Characters are perfect. You are introduced to all of these characters and as the season goes on they all have a story to tell. And then in season two after all the characters are established (plus some new characters) you are able to see the growth in the characters and development in them as well. Like I said they all have a story to tell, but are all somehow tied together at the end of the seasons. The characters wouldn’t have been brought to life if it wasn’t for the casting. Each actor portrays the character perfectly, it was like they were meant to play their characters. You can tell the cast cares about the characters and each other on and off the screen. I mean who doesn’t love the kids of Stranger Things. And not to spoil any of it for the readers who haven’t watched it yet… but Steve Harrington. Watch both seasons then let me know what you think of him.

Westworld

Now that I’ve ranted forever about Stranger Things, let’s move on to the next show and that is HBO’s Westworld. Westworld is a science fiction western thriller that takes place in the fictional Westworld, a technologically advanced Wild West themed amusement park populated by android hosts. The amusement park caters towards high-paying guests who need to escape from their reality and may indulge in whatever they want in the park without fear of retaliation from the hosts. But what happens when these hosts start to feel more than what they are programmed. What if they start to feel more human? This show portrays what happens when the hosts start retaliating against this crazy world of Westworld and the ones who run it.
Now I was introduced to Westworld in a weird way. I was at my old place and my then roommate had a friend over who couldn’t stop talking about Westworld. They were watching episodes and even though I was in the same room while it was on I was too busy working on my laptop to pay attention. But every time I looked up I couldn’t help but be drawn into the characters and the story. Weeks of them watching the show and me catching some parts I finally stopped working on things while the show was one and finally started putting all of my attention into watching the show. And I am so glad I did because I love it.

I will admit it, if you plan on watching this show you need to watch it from the very beginning and pay attention to it (don’t distract yourself) because a lot happens and it switches things (not to spoil anything) on you a bunch so you can get lost and very confused all at once, which happened to me. I had to ask a lot of questions and was and still confused on one things. Though I was lost I still fell in love with the characters and the story. There are so many twists and turns that you didn’t expect from the show but makes it so much more great.

I can’t wait to see what season 2 has in store for the characters and I made it a goal to watch the episodes I missed and rewatch the season 1 so I’m not as lost this time around!

Vikings

The last favorite show I want to talk about is History’s Vikings. Vikings is about a Viking named Ragnar Lothbrok who rises from being just a farmer to the most well known name in Viking history.

I was shown this show when season 3 was just starting but ended up binge watching from the beginning. Now season 5 is beginning to air on History Channel and I can’t wait to start watching it again.

Conclusion

So those are my current favorite TV Shows! As you can tell, some has a more impact but each show is awesome in their own way. What are your current favorite tv shows? What show should I binge watch next? Let me know in the comments below as well as ideas for my next blog post, I am always open to new ideas! I hope you guys are having a great week and I will see you in the next post!

Reasons Why Autumn is the Best Season!

Happy Tuesday/Wednesday and welcome to another blog post! Autumn weather finally hit here after days and days of rain and as I stepped outside today I was reminded once again oh how wonderful Autumn is. I live in the midwest so I get to experience all four seasons of the year and though each has its perks I always seem to look forward to Autumn most of all. For today’s post, I thought it would share with you why I think Autumn is the best season. So let’s get into it, here is why I think Autumn is the best season!

Colorful Leaves and Brisk Breeze

So like I said before, Autumn weather has finally hit where I am. The last couple weeks it has either been really cold in the morning and then hot in the afternoon or just rainy all day but the last couple of days it has been the perfect Autumn weather. In the morning it has been cold and instead of it being hot and humid like it was before it stays cold but the sun is out so it feels a little warmer. Weather like this is perfect for walks and by the end of it you won’t be sweating your cute Autumn makeup off.

Speaking of Autumn walks another reason I love Autumn is for the leaves changing colors. I love all the different shades of burnt reds, oranges, and yellows. Something about the leaves falling and feeling the brisk breeze makes my heart warm.

My Color of Life!

One of my favorite colors of all time is Burgundy and Maroon. It is such a dark deep beautiful red and looks beautiful on pretty much anything. From fashion and makeup to hair color I will instantly fall in love with whatever this color is on. Autumn is the time where my color of life comes out and stock up on things to get me through the rest of the year.

The Darker the Better

Speaking of makeup, Autumn is the season for darker and more dramatic makeup. As much as I love makeup and posting makeup reviews I am not the greatest at makeup, especially eye makeup. Even though I’m not the greatest I love to watch Autumn makeup tutorials and drool over my dream palette Morphe 35F. Autumn is also the time to bring out all of my favorite dark lip colors as well. I mean I wear my color of life on my lips all year round but it’s more suitable during this time of year.

Sweaters and More!

Going along with the fashion/makeup part of Autumn, I can’t get enough of Autumn fashion. As much as I love summer dresses, I always look forward to the day when I can put away my shorts and summer dresses and pull out the sweaters, scarves coats and boots from hiding. It is so hard going to shops and not buying every single sweater I see because they are so soft and so comfy and they are all I wear during Autumn. This Autumn I’ve been really been getting into mustard yellow and of course, my color of life :).

This Is Halloween

How can I talk about Autumn and not mention the best holiday ever? If you don’t know already, I live for Halloween 365 days of the year. I loved it as a kid for the costumes, pumpkin carving, and the great movies, and even though I don’t get to do as much for Halloween as an adult my love for Halloween is still there, maybe even more. Plus as an adult, I can eat all the Halloween I want and no one can tell me no… especially when that candy is on clearance.

Blankets, Hot Chocolate, Comfort Food and Cuddling

The last thing I love about Autumn is being able to cuddle up in a layer of blankets and enjoy hot chocolate, coffee or a bowl of chili or stew. One of the things I love to do (especially in October) is have friends come over and have a Halloween movie marathon while enjoying these comfort foods. Plus with it being cold out, it is a great excuse to cuddle up with your special someone.

Conclusion

So that is why I think Autumn is the best season! I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did writing it! What is your favorite part of Autumn? Are you getting excited for Halloween now that we are in the middle of October? Let me know in the comments below those as well as ideas for other blog posts, I’m always open to new ideas! I hope you guys are enjoying the best month of the year, I got a lot of stuff I am working on for you and I can’t wait to share them with you! Hope you have a great rest of the week and as always, I will see you in the next blog post!

A Quick Thought

Happy Sunday/Monday and welcome to another blog post! This is going to be a short one, but I just had a quick thought that I wanted to share with you.

As you know if you read my last update blog I just recently turned 25 years old. Turning 25 was really hard for me because I feel I am stuck between the “I need to get through school and start my career” stage and the “I want to settle down and have a family” stage which at times can be very overwhelming to think about. While I was relaxing, I suddenly found myself having a random thought.

After graduating high school when my classmates when to different colleges for different majors and opportunities I decided at the time that I wasn’t ready for school yet (I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with my life) I went straight into the workforce in retail until I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I knew early on that I was a hard worker and had good work ethics so I decided that since I knew I was going to be there for a while (and needed more money to save for school) I might as well move up and be apart of the management team. After a couple of interviews and a lot of letdowns I was never promoted with that company and even though it got to me at times I kept trying. I worked even harder than I was already working and sucked up to the right people but still didn’t get the management job I wanted. Months later I decided to leave that company and started working at a different company on top of finally starting school.

Fast forward to present day and while some of my classmates are now graduated and having a career and families, I am now a shift supervisor at Starbucks. On top of that even though it is taking forever (I am paying for it all out of pocket instead of taking out loans) I am going to school and working on my dream with my website and being able to write blog posts for you guys! I came to the conclusion that even though I didn’t go to school right away like my other classmates, 6 years later (oh my gosh it’s really been that long since I graduated high school) I have something that I worked hard towards and have reached stepping stone. I love Starbucks (it’s actually almost my 2 year anniversary there) and even though sometimes can be stressful and hard, aka the dreaded Unicorn Frappuccino, it is a fun job and has great benefits. Not only does it take the right place to present a new opportunity but it took 6 years of hard work and let downs to get to the place I am now. Thinking back on it now I am glad that I made that choice to go into the workforce first before school because through all that work it made me appreciate the workforce as well as how important my school work is because I am paying for it myself.

Having this random thought has made me feel a little better about getting older because now not only have I gained a little more respect for myself, but I know when I get down about what I haven’t accomplished in life I can remind myself of what I have worked for and have accomplished and what I am working towards now.

I hope you guys enjoyed this little thought I had randomly and now I pass this question to you. What are some accomplishments you are proud of? Let me know in the comments below as well as ideas for the next blog post. Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful week and I will see you in the next blog post.

My Favorite Youtube Channels!

Happy Tuesday/Wednesday and welcome to another blog post! As you all know I love Youtube, it is always the first thing I open up when I go on the Internet whether it is to listen to music while I work or to catch up on videos from my subscriptions. So I thought it would be a good idea to share my favorite Youtube Channels! From inspiring me to be more creative, seeing what a day in their lives are like to making me laugh I am always excited to see new content from these creators. So without further ado here are my favorite Youtube Channels!

Jenna Marbles

My first favorite Youtuber is the one and only Jenna Marbles. I’ve been watching her for a long time, I think since middle school. I think she’s the Youtuber I’ve been watching the longest. If you don’t know who Jenna Marbles is she makes Youtube videos that she would want to watch and laugh at every Wednesday/Thursday. From trying to be a makeup guru, to playing with her dogs, no matter what the video is I know that I will get a good laugh by watching her videos.

Her and her boyfriend Julien also have a podcast that comes out every Monday called “Jenna Julien” where they talk about pretty much anything they want. They can have a serious podcast talking about things happening on Youtube and the world and the next can be having a pizza party. When I’m not watching the podcast online I listen to it while working or exercising.

Ethan and Hila Klein aka h3h3 Productions

Last year I was introduced to h3h3 Productions and I honestly thought I wasn’t going to be a fan but was pleasantly surprised the more and more I watched them. H3H3 Productions is made up of Ethan and Hila Klein who make reaction videos to other Youtubers and events going on in the world. The reason why I love h3h3 Productions is because they not only do they create great memes and are all around great people but they call out and react to Youtubers in such a genius way that they are a force to not mess with. Some examples include calling out Joey Salads on making fake videos that promote racism, prank channels going a little too far on their pranks, and everything going on with Youtube and cutting ads.

They recently just won a lawsuit which is very exciting and I am very excited to see what kind of memes and videos they create in the future. They also have a podcast that is streamed live on twitch every week that I love as well!

*Nerd Alert* Every time I’m writing a blog post and use the header code “h3” I always think of them tehe. :))

Leighannsays/Leighannvlogs

Another Youtuber I’ve been watching for as long as I can remember is Leighannsays. Leigh Ann makes fashion and a makeup up videos in Houston, Texas who uploads weekly. More than once have I found myself buying makeup items after watching a video by her.

She also has a vlog channel that she uploads twice a week on that shows a glimpse of her life during the weekend (they’re weekend vlogs) and it is because of her vlog channel that I’ve fallen in love with her channel again. She recently got engaged so I’m really excited to see the next chapter of her life with the wedding.

Kelly Eden

If you have been reading my blog for awhile you know how much I love Kelly Eden. She has inspired me so much to just be myself, love myself and rekindle my love anime. If you don’t know who she is, Kelly Eden is a girl living in L.A who is an artist/cosplayer and fellow anime lover. A lot of people know her for her pastel hair and her dollhouse but I know her from her cosplays and love of Sailor Moon. If pink is your aesthetic or you love anime and Sailor Moon you should really check her out because she is awesome! Her and her friends (the fellowship of the rainbow as they call their friend group) are such a great group of people so check them out as well!

Tom Fletcher

Ever since early middle school I have been in love with the band Mcfly. When I found out that one of the band members Tom Fletcher has a Youtube I was very excited. He first got famous on Youtube from his wedding speech (which made me cry of course) and since then he’s been documenting family time, new books and more.

Giovanna Fletcher aka Giovannasworld

So of course with her husband being a Youtuber, Tom Fletcher’s wife Giovanna hopped on the Youtube wagon. Giovanna is a publishing author as well as a full time mother to their two adorable sons Buzz and Buddy Fletcher. On her channel she talks about what it means to be a mother and in a way inspires me to write more. It has been one of my lifelong dreams to one day publish my own book and watching her channel inspires me every time I watch a video to work towards that dream.

She just recently started a podcast based off her most recent book “Happy Mum Happy Baby” talking to other moms about motherhood. Even though I am not a mother, I am still excited to listen to this podcast.

Carrie Hope Fletcher aka ItsWayPastMyBedTime

Before Gi started Youtube and even before Tom started Youtube, I was watching his little sister Carrie on her channel “ItsWayPastMyBedTime”. When Carrie isn’t making Youtube videos she is living her dreams on the broadway stage playing roles like Ebonie from “Les Miserables” and Truly from “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”. She is currently playing Wednesday Addams on the UK tour of “The Addams Family”.

The creative gene runs very deep in the Fletcher family because just like Tom and Gi, Carrie has published a couple of books of her own which makes me so happy. (I need to one day order all the books on Amazon!)

The Fletcher family (all three of them) are all talented people who inspire me to write and stay creative, I know when I’m feeling down or uninspired I can go to any of their channels and feel inspired again.

Emma Blackery

The next Youtuber is another long time favorite, and good friend of Carrie Hope Fletcher, Emma Blackery. She is a Singer/Youtuber based off in London who does comedy sketches. I have been watching her videos for years so in a way I have seen Emma grow as a Youtuber and person. A few times throughout her career Emma has gone through changes with what she wants for her channel and herself and now has really found herself in the past couple of months, which I absolutely love. She recently just came out with a book which I am also so excited to read. Honestly I am so proud of what she has accomplished and she always makes me smile when I see her videos.

She also has a vlog channel called that is more relaxed where she sits and talks to her audience about anything and what goes on in her life as well as advice (which helped lead her to new book).

The Michalaks/ Hannah Maggs

The last favorite Youtube channel is “The Michalak Family”. Stef and Hannah Michalak are a couple based in the UK who put up a what to some may just be another weekly vlog but to them it is like making a short film every week vlogging their life for their son Grayson (and now new baby as of this past month :D). I tune in every week to watch their vlogs not only because of their fun and sassy personalities but because of the showmanship in each of their videos. Stef does such a good job in editing their vlogs, he can make what can be a boring walk in the park or running errands seem way more interesting because of how he edits it.

As well as The Michalaks (Stef runs that account mostly) Hannah has her own Youtube account where she talks about makeup, fashion and being a mom, as well as her own blog. I love the way she takes photos for her blog posts and they really inspire me to take better photos for my blog posts.

Conclusion

So that’s all my favorite Youtube Channels! Did I mention any of your favorite Youtubers? What Youtube Channels do you enjoy? Comment down below those and any other Youtube Channels that I should check out, I’m always interested in watching more content! Back to School Tips// Little Update on Me!!

Hello and welcome to another blog post! I know it’s been a very VERY long time since I’ve written a blog post but a lot has happened this past month. So much that the stress of trying to keep up with my blog schedule was a stress I could not handle. I could get into more of it but things are still pretty stressful and a lot of things around me are changing all at once. And though life has knocked me down multiple times this past month at the end of the day I still have my dreams. After a long and hard day dealing with stress and my lack of mental health I still have the things in life that keep me happy and keep me working through it all. That is why as of today instead of sitting around and dealing with the stress, anxiety, and depression that is growing inside of me I want to get back into going after my dream so I thought I would first come here and say hello!

One of the things that happened this past month that was planned (no matter how much I didn’t want it to) was that I celebrated my 25th birthday! Yes, the big 25…the halfway point of saying goodbye to the last of my young years and hello to true adulthood. Now, normally people my age are out of college and starting adulthood with the job of their dreams. If not working on their careers, they are getting married, or are already married and having a family. Or they have both their dream career and a family.

I am definitely not normal. As well all know well by now. I am neither working at my dream job or married and have a family of my own. I am slowly working my way through college by working a full-time job to pay for college all out of pocket with no help financially. Before I was emotionally stuck in the middle between feeling like I needed to get through college and start my career but now that I’m 25 the emotions of getting married and starting to have a family is now in the mix. All these emotions are very confusing and at times overwhelming.

So when life throws things my way all at once I have to put my college plan aside to get through it. I know I’m working my way and when I do finally reach those goals I will be debt free and a better place but right now it is hard for me mentally and emotionally because I watched my fellow classmates graduate and now I get to see all the stuff they accomplish while I feel like I am going nowhere.

Unfortunately, with everything going on, I couldn’t afford to take classes this fall semester, which makes me feel like I am once again taking a step back instead of forwards towards a better future.

So to try not to let all the emotions get to me (more than it already has) I thought it would be a fun idea to give some back to school tips to the readers who are going to school this semester! So without further ado and this long intro let’s get into the tips!

Study Hard!

This one is self-explanatory. You want to have fun but also remember that you are in school to get an education and learn something… so might as well do that while you are there!

Get plenty of sleep!

Sleep is very important. Without it, paying attention in class is a lot harder and you could miss out on important information that could be on an exam! Plus getting a good night’s rest sets you up for success and you wake up feeling ready for the day!

Set lots of alarms!

I was never a morning person (still as an adult I am still not) so it is always a good idea to set multiple alarms. If you don’t wake up to the first alarm, you’ll sooner or later wake up if you have multiple ones!

Do not get in the habit of getting to class late!

We are all human so being late is bound to happen to all of us. But if you make a habit of getting to class late, it could not only get in the way of your grades but can create worse habits down the line. So get in the habit of being on time first before getting in the habit of being late!

Get homework done/study for tests!

Speaking of getting in good habits, get in the habit of getting homework done right when you get home. I know homework is a pain and no one wants to do it but the sooner you get it done the more time you have to do other things!

Always write down due dates/test exam days!

You don’t want to be that person who forgot about the exam and is suddenly cramming in as much studying as they can before the test. Always keep a planner with you to stay organized with major due dates and exam days. A planner is also useful for writing down events or a work schedule if you add on a part time job.

Have confidence while taking exams!

Unless you forgot about the exam and crammed everything at the end if you took the time to study for an exam have confidence going into the exam! I know test taking was always the hardest for me personally so from experience just knowing that you did your best to prepare for the exam can help get yourself through the test with confidence!

Keep your friends close!

Your friends are your biggest supporters. Not only are they there to have sleepovers and talk about boys but in a way, they can empower you to be better in school and in after school activities. Plus if you have a close friend in a class you don’t enjoy, that class can become a little more bearable knowing your friend is in the same class.

Make new friends!

Are you going to a new school this year? Or are you in a class that none of your friends are in? Now would be a great opportunity to make new friends! I know it’s a scary (even as an adult, I am scared to introducing myself let alone opening myself up to new people) but you could end up making a really good friend in the end!

Don’t let boys get in the way of schoolwork!…

SCHOOLWORK IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE CUTE BOY WHO SITS IN FRONT OF YOU! Don’t let them distract you from getting homework done and getting good grades. Yes, dating can be fun but if you get hurt your grades will pay for it as well.

…or get between friends!

There’s gonna be a time when you and one of your friends have a crush on the same guy. Don’t let the boy get in between friendships… boys don’t last that long but friendships last forever! I know from experience that if you let a boy between a friendship, you may lose that friend! If you want to keep that friend, choose fries before guys! (sorry, had to put that in ;D)

Don’t get too overwhelmed!

Things at a time can get a little overwhelming. From keeping grades up to having a social life, to participating in after school activities. Some even add a part time job to the mix. Staying busy is always a good thing because it keeps you out of trouble, but if it starts getting to the point that you can’t concentrate on school work or be taking care of yourself then maybe it is time to cut back on things. If you are in multiple extracurricular activities, which activity do you enjoy the most? If you cut back on activities you don’t enjoy as much you can concentrate on becoming better at the one you do enjoy the most. Plus that gives you more time to rest or have that social life you want, and keep your grades up as well!

Conclusion

Well, that’s all of the tips! In all honesty, the most important tip for going back to school is to work hard but don’t forget to have fun along the way. I hope you enjoyed this blog post; I always have fun with these types of posts and it lets me have time to forget about all the stresses and troubles of life.

Before I go I just wanted to thank every single one of you for being so patient with me this past month. I can’t promise that I’m going to be back to my schedule right away but what I can promise is that I love blogging and even if I take long breaks, I will never stop writing and never stop chasing after my dreams.

If you are new around here, did you know that I also have social media?! If you want to know what I do in my daily life or find another way to connect with me you can reach me on other platforms as well!

My Hair Evolution!

Happy Sunday/Monday and welcome to another blog post! Since I’m always wanting to let you guys get to know me, I thought what better whan than doing that than showing some cringe worthy photos of me. That’s right, I’m talking about my Hair Evolution throughout the years. I’m always telling people about a certain hairstyle and digging through my Instagram and Facebook to prove to them it actually happened so might as well just go through it all today! Now normally when people do Hair Evolution posts or videos they show off all the different color they’ve had but I didn’t really start coloring my hair crazy colors until last month so mine is mostly filled with… oh why tell you now and let’s just get into it!

My Natural Hair

Look at my baby face! This photo is from July 2007 and this is my natural hair. For as long as I could remember I always had longish brown curly hair with the occasion of trimming it every once in awhile. Around this time I just got into straightening my hair (I remember spending a long time in the morning doing it because it was so long and thick) I hated my curls so much back then so those rare occasions when I actually let my hair be naturally curly (and didn’t curl it…even though I had naturally curly hair??) I still had to at least straighten my “bangs” because I hated how much it looked.

August 2011

So I kept it like that for pretty much my middle school and high school days. I straightened and curled it a lot and the shortest I would ever let it get was to my shoulders. But I just graduated high school and had the new me kind of attitude. Plus this was the time that my favorite actress Emma Watson had cut her hair in a pixie cut and I wanted to be just like her but when I went to get it done I got scared and couldn’t go full pixie. I didn’t mind the cut, It was very hard to manage though with my curls (It was almost a fro) so yes by cutting it killed all the dead ends from heat but I was still straightening my hair every day.

July 2012 First Hair Dying Experience

So in the summer of 2012 I decided that it was finally time to do something different. Before this the most dyeing I’ve done with my hair is a few blonde highlights here and there but not fully dyeing all of it. But I was like what the heck I’m an adult (I was about to turn 19)! I originally wanted to go all black but since it was my first time I was too scared I wouldn’t like it, so I was suggested by my older sister to start with dark brown to see if I like my hair that dark and then maybe go black. It wasn’t a big change compared to my normal brown hair but I enjoyed it and rocked it! It was a great first experience for me and as you can see down the line it wasn’t my last time!

October 2012

So I rocked the dark brown look for a few months, and in October of 2012 I finally got the confidence to go full black. And according to this photo I had enough confidence to try bangs (for the first time… this becomes a reoccurring thing). Now the hard thing with having bangs for me is the fact that I have crazy curly hair and I’m lazy (things haven’t really changed). If I don’t style my bangs they curl up and becomes a poof. If I style my bangs but don’t style my hair it looks like the early hair styles of Hermione Granger. But the days where I wasn’t lazy and actually took the time to style my hair (as much as I could back in the day) I really liked having full bangs.

April 2013

In time I started to get sick of the black and was really missing my brown hair so I let it fade and grow into the closest I would ever get to my once brown hair. The laziness completely took over because I was growing out my bangs as well as my hair. I actually really liked my hair like this, especially the length (I’ve always like myself with long hair more). With the exception of styling my bangs, I actually let my natural curls flow and it was actually pretty cute. Also just a side note, I apparently still had no idea that you can put makeup in your eyebrows.

December 2013

But of course yet again I was bored with just keeping my hair the same so I cut it shoulder length (and miss the length right after) and dye my hair red. Now of course with all the experience I had with dyeing my hair I didn’t think that with the base being brown you wouldn’t be able to have red hair so my hair ended up being more of a maroonish purplish color. I didn’t really mind the maroon hair but it wasn’t what I was wanting.. But I still rocked it! Also, still didn’t know you could have makeup in your brows.

February 2014

The maroon is still pretty much there (I learned that black and red are the two hardest colors to get out of your hair.. Even when you dye it back brown) but spontaneously I decided to try bangs once more! I am impressed with how well they turned out (I usually cut them myself) as well as how much my makeup skills (this is the time I really started getting into makeup) and yet, I still didn’t put makeup on my brows. Guess it didn’t matter much cause I had bangs to cover them up!

May 2014-January 2015 The Game Changer

So of course I got lazy with the bangs and let my hair grow out but I still found myself wanting to do something with my hair. I didn’t want to cut it because I finally got my hair the length I wanted (oh don’t worry… that’s going to change really soon) and I knew that I didn’t wanna go back to black or red so the only color left that was “natural” (Starbucks back then didn’t allow crazy colors as much as I wanted to have crazy colors) blonde. And with the blonde ombre trend going I thought I would hop on the band wagon and try it out. So I went to target, got a kit by Lo’real I think and with the help of my older sister I bleached my tips. I honestly thought it wasn’t going to work (I remember being rushed cause I had to go to work) but once I got out of the shower and saw the blonde I was so in love! I couldn’t believe it actually worked (especially because it came from a box) and the more and more I looked at it the more I fell in love with it. I also noticed that with the blonde in my hair I had this new found confidence in myself, I can’t really explain the confidence I had but I know it was there. Putting blonde in my hair was a huge game changer for me… I even got rid of it for like a month and missed it and the confidence that came with it so I put it back then… until the next hairstyle…

May 2015

It must have been a trend where everyone around me was having a pixie cut (Emma Watson’s hair had grown out way from her pixie cut) because even though I loved the blonde hair and I loved the length my hair was I suddenly really wanted to try for a pixie cut again. But once more when I got to the hair salon I chickened out and this was the result. I was a little nervous because It was literally an hour before work when I got my hair done and I had no time to style it because I had to work, but I was pleasantly surprised with how my natural curls took the haircut (aka it wasn’t an afro). Plus it seemed like my co-workers liked it (or at least they were surprised which that was my goal!) so if anything just the excitement of doing it on the limb was fun enough!

June 2015

So finally after a few weeks I decided to just do it and I got hair cut to a pixie! It was also just in time for the Marianas Trench concert that I’ve been so excited for, I thought that what a good time to get my hair cut than for this concert! After years of wanting to do it but chickening out right at the end I finally just did it and I actually really liked it! The curls took it fine and went great with the hat and outfit for the concert!

June 2015 continued

I actually liked it so much that a few short weeks later I took the pixie cut to the next level and shaved half my hair! (with the help of my older sister of course) The main reason why I decided to shave half my hair is because of my curls. With the normal pixie cut there were times when my hair would dry and just poof out. So by cutting it it stays more flat and I just have to worry about styling only half of my hair, and it works out with the lazy part of me which is a plus!

August 2015-December 2015

It didn’t take long until I started to feel insecure with my hair after getting the pixie cut. So through these next couple months since I knew it would take a while to grow (as much as I wished it would grow fast) I wore lots of hats (especially one certain black knit hat when it got cold) to hide my insecurities. As it slowly started to grow I noticed and joked around with friends and family that my hair was going through the “Bieber” look. But it was growing, and that’s all that mattered to me.

March 2016

After a few months of it growing and remembering the confidence I used to have I decided around spring break to get my hair colored to help with the insecurity I had with my hair. I worked with a few girls who went to school at Aveda so I set up an appointment with her and was excited and nervous for the change. Must be something about just having blonde in my hair but after it was done and I walking out of the salon I felt so happy and confident again with my hair. Few days later I went back in and got an undercut by one of her fellow peers. It was a great idea to get the undercut because not only does it bring more air to the back of my head but it keeps the back of my hair from poofing the more it grows. So Maddie if you are reading this thank you so much again for giving me confidence again and helping me like my hair again.

July 2016: Hair Growth

Around this time it has been a year and a month since I got a pixie cut and then shaved half my hair. It may not seem like it’s grown a lot, but thinking about it, even just from March to July it has noticeably grown! Even though it has faded, I still loved the blonde that was still in my hair and it even looked great with my natural curls!

I do have to add that even though I missed my hair long and felt insecure with my short hair I don’t regret getting my hair in a pixie cut. I wanted to do it for a long long time and I’m glad that I did it and now know how I look with it. So for future reference if I had the desire to do it again I know what to expect from it… but I don’t think that’s going to happen for a long time.

August 2016: Silver Fox

So with my hair starting to grow more the more it was time to change my hair again (don’t worry, no more cutting it). I was going through some rough times mentally so I went to Maddie again and with her magic we created the Silver Fox! I loved loved loved this color and even now I still miss it (so hey, maybe one day you will see the Silver Fox again) and is always impressed with her skills. I was too nervous to dye my hair silver (wasn’t sure how it would turn out) so Maddie had the idea to just do the silver when we went to tone it. I love the silver because it had some tints of teal which gave the silver more dimension.

September 2016

As much as I loved being the “Silver Fox” it lasted for about 2 weeks because it was just a toner. But I loved the blonde in my hair (Thank You Maddie once again!) I was originally going to go back to the Silver Fox but I loved the blonde was, I wasn’t ready to give up the blonde yet! Plus let’s be honest… hair appointments are expensive :(((!

January 2017

So keeping the blonde I just let my hair do it’s thing and grow! I let my hair air dry (with a little help of hair mousse to keep it from poofing) and cut back on styling it as much to keep it healthy (and cause I’m lazy). But every so often when I did want to mix it up I would straighten my hair just to see how long it has grown.

To be honest I am shocked with how well my hair evened out itself when it was growing out. And even though I didn’t think so, every time I would talk to a friend or run into an old friend they would say how fast my hair has grown when I tell them I had a pixie cut 2 years ago. Looking back at it all now I can say they were right and I was just impatient.

May 2017

So as you guys know, I got bored with my hair and I can’t right now afford what I really want to do with I thought why not and went on a whim and had some fun with my hair until I can afford a salon appointment (now that work allows “unnatural” hair colors in the new dress code)! I really enjoyed having pink hair and would I do it again… most likely.

Today

The sad thing about the pink is that it didn’t last as long (you would know if you read my blog post all about it, you should go check it out if you haven’t) so instead of doing pink again I thought that this time around I would do teal! And on top of it all I once again I convinced myself that I won’t be lazy and will take care of them and gave myself bangs… I blame Pinterest.

I really do enjoy doing these crazy colors I’ve been doing, it is fun way to express myself without doing something as drastic as cutting my hair (the dye is semi-permanent) but still satisfies my need for change and gives my life more of a pop of color. I would like to someday try out more colors but I don’t know what is in store for my hair or style. I still really want to do what I’ve originally want to do with my hair so we shall see how soon I will be able to do that! Until then who wants to bet on how long I’m going to keep the bangs again? Third time’s the charm maybe??

Conclusion

So that’s it! That is all the hairstyles I have had! It was fun (with a few cases of cringe) to go through all the pictures (via Facebook or Instagram) and to go back on memory lane. What is the craziest hairstyle or color you rocked? Also if you liked this type of post let me know what other type of posts you would like me to do in the comments below! My Pink Hair Experience//L’Oreal Paris Colorista Semi-Permanent Hair Dye Review

Happy Sunday and welcome to another blog post! Recently one of my favorite youtubers Leighannsays dyed her hair rose gold and after watching her video I got inspired! I’ve always wanted to dye my hair pink but was always scared to because yes even though my job does allow unnatural hair color in our dress code, but with my position as a shift supervisor I was nervous to do it. But in her video, Leighann said that the dye is semi permanent and washed out in 3 washes so I thought why not? See what it would be like to have pink hair! So without further ado, let’s get into my experience with pink hair!

The Hair Dye

The hair dye that Leighann and I used was the Colorista Semi Permanent Hair Dye. I really like what Leighann did so just like in the video I used a mix of two colors, pink and soft pink. Leighann had two bottles of each hair dyes because she was covering her whole head and she was scared that she would run out, but since I was only coloring the blonde parts in my hair (which is the bottom tips of my hair) I only got one of each bottle. In the end I ended up only using a little more than half of the bottles so I had left-over hair dye to use in case I wanted to retouch it up (spoiler alert, I retouched it up). What made me want to use this hair dye (other than the fact that Leighann used it tehe) is the fact that it is semi- permanent. According to the box the color is supposed to last 4 to 8 washes and since I wash my hair about once a week I expected it to last a little bit. I bought my hair dye at Target, and it was about 10 dollars for each box so it wasn’t expensive at all.

My Experience

(thats my sister with me :D)

When I opened the box I was surprised to see that the hair dye was in a squeeze bottle. Usually hair dyes come in three separate parts where you have to add one part to another and have this weird small tip that took a bit to get any product out, but this was very easy to use as well as time saving. Another thing I really liked was not only did it have a brush, but it came with a million of gloves! In a hair dye pack you only get one pair of gloves which is great, but really inconvenient when you accidently rip a glove or you have to take it off for some reason. So having multiple gloves was really nice, especially since I retouched up the pink later on.

My bottom tips were pretty blonde so the finishing color was very pink which I liked (first photo). The bright pink lasted until I washed my hair for the first time which then it turned from an in your face pink to a more rose gold kind of pink that I really liked. Even though I really liked the rose gold color that the pink faded into, It already started to fade fast after one wash and like I said earlier, I still had left-over dye, so I retouched it up and was back to the bright pink. Since I was dying the pink on top of an already pink tinted hair it was a more bright pink and after one wash it turned into a more beautiful rose gold color so I do recommend that if you have left-over product, I would retouch it up.

I have washed my hair three times since I retouched the color (third photo) and I feel that it is really faded. I can see a lot more blonde in my hair coming up again and the color isn’t as bright or as pretty as it used to be. It is also patchy as well which could easily be my fault more than the product’s from applying it to my hair. I feel like in the next two products my hair will be back to being blonde and the pink will be completely gone.

Finishing Thoughts and Would I recommend?

All together I would say that I have had a good experience with this hair experiment. In the long run I want to have my hair to be more blonde, I feel more confident with my hair being blonde, but in order to do what I want to do with my hair I would have to go to a professional which I can’t afford right now. So until then I thought I would have some fun with it while I can! The only bad thing I would say about it, is that it only lasts for about 4 to 6 washes instead of the 4-8 washes the box said. But hey, that could just be that with my hair, it could last longer for someone else’s hair! I really enjoyed having pink hair, it gave me a confidence like the blonde does, but a different kind of confidence. With all that being said, would I recommend L’Oreal Paris Colorista Semi-Permanent Hair Dye to friends or family? I would! I love how it gave me a taste of having colored hair like I’ve always wanted and the color is very bright and vibrant, and even pretty when it’s faded too!

There are other colors in the line, and I would like to try other colors, but I also have come attached to the pink color… so I don’t know what to do? What do you guys think? Would you like to see me use the same hair dye brand but a different color, or try a different brand of pink? I would love to try LimeCrime’s Unicorn Hair Dye one day! Let me know in the comments below!

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post and let me know if you like post like these, as well as ideas for other blog posts! I hope you all have a wonderful week and I will see you all on Tuesday!
