Anime Characters Sorted Into Hogwarts Houses: Attack on Titan Edition!

Happy Sunday/Monday and welcome to another blog post! I did a blog post like this a while back with Sailor Moon, but I had so much fun doing it I thought I would continue this series by combining another one of my favorite animes with one of my all time favorite movie series to bring you another “Anime Characters Sorted Into Hogwarts Houses!” blog post with Attack on Titan! If you haven’t read my first one, “Anime Characters Sorted into Hogwarts Houses” (The official name to this series, as of right now…tehe) is a blog series where I play sorting hat and sort different anime characters to the four Hogwarts Houses based on what we as viewers know about them. Now how I thought of this I have no clue, but if we can take a quiz to see what house we sorted into, why can’t our favorite anime characters be too? So let’s pretend these characters are in the world of Harry Potter and learning magic and fighting a war against He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named instead of Titans (I honestly don’t know who would be worst to fight, Voldemort or Titans??) and get right into it! Here’s “Anime Characters Sorted into Hogwarts Houses” Attack on Titan Edition!

Note: If you haven’t seen Season 2 and are planning on watching it, I would not read the reasons on why I sorted them into the houses (if you really want to know, you can look at the pictures) for there may be spoilers.

Eren Jeager

Eren is very brave, passionate, strong-willed person but also very impulsive and sometimes reckless with his decisions. All of these traits land him in house Gryffindor. Congrats Eren Jeager, you are a Gryffindor!

Mikasa Ackerman

Due to her loyalty to Eren she is the first to land in Team Hufflepuff! Though if she was really under the sorting hat, she would choose to be in Gryffindor to be with Eren. Congrats Mikasa Ackerman, you are a Hufflepuff!

Armin Arlelt

As much as I would want the main trio to be like the trio in Harry Potter and all be in Gryffindor, Armin would be sorted into house Ravenclaw. He is the smartest of the group, always curious about the outside word and always the brains behind every plan of attack. I do admit Armin has the bravery of a Gryffindor since he is timid and small. Congrats Armin Arlelt, you are a Ravenclaw!

Reiner Braun

Reiner would make the sorting hat question where to sort him, but after some thought I would think that Reiner would be sorted into House Gryffindor. I know he may be set out as the “bad Titan” and yes I do absolutely agree that he has made some bad choices and has done some terrible things, but I can still see him as a Gryffindor. In season 1, all the cadets saw Reiner as a “big brother” figure who was very passionate and honest. But in season 2 we see him fight emotionally through his choices as a soldier and a warrior. He’s very reckless but also very brave and that is what lands him in house Gryffindor. So congrats Reiner Braun, you are a Gryffindor!

Bertholdt Hoover

Standing by Reiner is the shy and quiet Bertholdt. He is very loyal to Reiner his childhood friend and is very aware of the choices he and Reiner has made and is willing to go through with it all. For his loyalty Bertholdt has landed a spot on Team Hufflepuff! So congrats Bertholdt Hoover, you are a Hufflepuff!

Annie Leonhart

The next is Annie Leonhart. In season 1 you see Annie shy away from making any friends with the cadets and her true desires show when she is revealed as the Female Titan. Annie is very ambitious, she showed her strong desire to succeed with capturing Eren and was upset when she failed. That and her sense of self-preservation lands her a spot as the first Slytherin in the Attack on Titan cast! So congrats Annie Leonhart, you are a Slytherin!

Christa Lenz/Historia Reiss

In the first season you see Christa as this sweet kind girl always helping people in aid but she was known to be meek as well. But in season 2 when she finally accepts herself as Historia Reiss, though she is still afraid facing Titans outside the wall, Historia still charges into the face of danger. For that Historia shows traits that puts her in house Gryffindor. So congrats Historia Reiss, you are a Gryffindor!

Ymir Fritz

The next is Ymir Fritz. In the beginning she seems very selfish, uncooperative and exploitative but in season 2 you see a different side of Ymir, especially around Historia. She shows so much love towards Historia to the fact that she would do anything of her. Her love towards Historia plus Ymir’s cunning personality shows traits that puts her in house Slytherin. So congrats Ymir Fritz, you are a Slytherin!

Connie Springer

Next is Connie Springer. Connie is very outgoing and impetuous. He loves expressing his opinions and goofing around and messing with his friends. After a few close encounters with the Titans his naive enthusiasm falls away becoming more serious but is still very eager to prove his worth. He remains optimistic always caring for the well-being of others and always willing to help in any way he can. For that he shows traits that puts him in house Gryffindor for his sense of courage and bravery he shows. So congrats Connie Springer, you are a Gryffindor!

Sasha Braus

Next is one of my favorite characters Sasha Braus. She is shown in season 1 to be timid and prone to make mistakes under stressful situations. During great stress, Sasha finds that food puts her mind at ease so she is very compulsive in her desire to eat, which leads her to make choices like stealing food. She’s very loyal to her friends and the Survey Corp as well as compassionate about food which are traits that puts her in team Hufflepuff! So congrats Sasha Braus, you are a Hufflepuff!

Jean Kirschtein

The next in the cadets is Jean Kirschtein. Jean is very blunt, he speaks his mind and that as well of being extremely hot-headed which got him in a few heated fights with Eren. Despite all of that, Jean is a natural leader, being able to understand others and assess situations. He may present himself as self-centered, he places the lives of his comrades on high value and is horrified when he leaves helpless allies behind to save himself and others. Those traits put him in house Slytherin. So congrats Jean Kirschtein, you are a Slytherin!

Levi Ackerman

How could I do this blog post without mentioning my husbando?? What can I say about Levi that I haven’t said already… well that’s start with the fact that Levi is not very approachable. He rarely shows emotion which causes people to think he is cold. But despite that Levi has a strong sense of morality and empathy to human life; one example is when it was revealed that Titans might have once been humans which disturbed him greatly knowing that he was unknowingly killing humans. He is very loyal to Erwin, the Survey Corps and humanity. His dedication to the Survey Corps and his loyalty to Erwin is sorted into house Slytherin! So congrats Levi Ackerman you are a Hufflepuff!

Erwin Smith

Speaking of loyalty, the next character is Erwin Smith. Erwin, like most characters in this anime, is a complex character. He is serious, always planning for the future. He is a leader who is very grim. He accepts all news good and bad with the ultimate goal that humanity can once again rise up and become the dominant species over the Titans. Because Erwin is cunning, a strong leader and very achievement-oriented that puts him in house Slytherin! So congrats Erwin Smith, you are a Slytherin!

Hange Zoe

The last character is the one and only Hange Zoe. Hange broadcasts her emotions in the most extreme way. She is a energetic and quirky scientist though in time of stress she is able to keep a level head. Hange is a genius. She is able to figure out complex problems and create plans for her teammates to carry out. She takes her research on the Titans very seriously, as she was very upset when the Titans she was doing research on were killed. For those reasons Hange is sorted into House Ravenclaw. So congrats Hange Zoe, you are a Ravenclaw!

So that’s it for this episode! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did putting it together! Let me know how you thought I did playing sorting hat as well as other anime I should play this game with in the comments below.

I hope you guys are having a great start to your December, if you follow me on social media you know this but this year for December I am doing things differently. Last year for December I did this thing called “Doodlemas” where everyday I made new doodles and did blog posts twice a week. This year with my store opening and I’m blogging twice a week (or trying to) I need to put my time and effort into getting my store out there. But don’t worry, I do have something planned something close to Christmas. It will be something similar to what I did for Halloween, so look forwards to that coming up. Until then, I’m going to try to get new blog posts up twice a week but I can’t promise you that there will be two a week. I hope you can understand and still enjoy the content I am putting up because I sure do enjoy posting it for you.

If you want sneak peaks of stickers or first notifications on new blog posts, why don’t you follow me on social media?

Anime to Watch During Halloween

Happy week of Halloween and welcome to another blog post! We are halfway through the Halloween posts and I realized that I haven’t done an anime post yet for this Halloween week! So I thought it would be about time I added one in for my fellow weebs and nerds out there! Halloween brings a lot of fun times from haunted houses to Halloween parties, but sometimes it’s just a good idea to stay home all bundled up and watch some good anime. In the beginning of the week I talked about Halloween movies to watch and just in case you are more in the anime mood instead of a Halloween movie (or you have watched them all already and need something new to watch) I thought I would share some anime shows to watch this Halloween Season! So let’s get into it, here are some anime to watch during Halloween!

Tokyo Ghoul

The first show to watch during Halloween is Tokyo Ghoul. Tokyo Ghoul is about a boy named Kaneki whose normal life is completely changed when he is changed to a ghoul and has to live in the world as a half ghoul-half human. This show is great for Halloween because it has that creepy-fantasy side but also a slice of life side to the anime with the struggle between humans and ghouls trying to exist in the same world.

Highschool of the Dead

Speaking of a mix of creepy-fantasy and slice of life, the next anime to watch during Halloween is Highschool of the Dead. Highschool of the Dead is set in modern day Japan where the world is suddenly by a deadly pandemic where humans are turning into zombies and a group of high schoolers have to try to survive this zombie apocalypse. If you read my Anime Tag blog post you know that I have mixed feelings towards this show. Though I think it is a good show and perfect for Halloween, I also think that this show tries to fanservice a little too much with sexualizing the female characters.

Death Parade

The next is an anime I have been interested in for a while and recently watched earlier this year and that is Death Parade. Death Parade is about a place called Quindecim where humans after death are challenged to a game and ultimately get judged by arbiters to see who goes gets reincarnated or thrown into the void. The main character Decim, an arbiter, starts questioning the true meaning of being an arbiter after meeting a strange black haired girl who enters Quindecim. The reason why it took me so long to finally watch this show because all I’ve heard is on how sad and depressing this show is. Which the show is about death, so I can see how it is sad, but I am so glad I watched it! Though it had some really sad moments and I did emotionally break down after watching a certain episode the show is so well done. So if you are in the mood to get all the feels, Death Parade is the way to go!

Attack on Titan

This is the part of the blog post where you just knew either Sailor Moon or Attack on Titan would pop up sometime, and this time it is Attack on Titan’s turn! Anytime I can recommend an anime, I always recommend Attack on Titan because I love it so much, especially season 2. So of course with Halloween, who wouldn’t want to watch the struggle for the existence of mankind against Titans… that just screams Halloween! Quick little update, I haven’t been able to watch the Attack on Titan Junior High or Attack on Titan No Regrets yet but I have gotten some new Attack on Titan books that I’ve started to dive in and will let you know how I feel about those!

Vampire Knight

The next anime is a favorite from my early anime watching days and that is Vampire Night. Vampire Knight is about a girl named Yuki Cross who attends Cross Academy where there is a “Day Class” aka the human class and the “Night Class” vampire class and it is her job as well as her mysterious (but handsome) friend Zero Kiryu to protect them. Along the way Yuki find out that Zero has been struggling to fight his transformation into a vampire and tries to help him live as a vampire while recovering her own lost memories of the past. This show is great for Halloween because who doesn’t love a love triangle without the sparkles? (haha get it, cause of Twilight.. Ha ok I thought I was punny.)

Chibi Vampire Karin

So I honestly forgot all about this anime until I was starting this blog post. This next anime is called Chibi Vampire Karin. Chibi Vampire Karin is about a vampire named Karin who is unlike the rest of her vampire family. Karin doesn’t feed on blood but instead produces it. Since she produces it instead of feed on it she is forced to bite others to expel the extra blood or she has major nosebleeds. Other than that Karin lives a normal highschool life when a new transfer student Kenta comes and learns her secret. The show then revolves around Kenta trying to live a “normal life” as trouble starts happening around them as well as feelings for each other. This anime is just so much fun to watch! It has the vampire blood side of the show but also the funny moments like when Karin has her crazy nose bleeds and cute moments between Karin and Kenta. Ah writing this makes me want to rewatch this series again!

Ouran Highschool Host Club Halloween Episode

Now this anime has nothing to do with fantasy or Halloween but the series does have a Halloween episode that I could not put in this post. If you don’t know Ouran Highschool Host Club is about a girl named Haruhi who is stuck in a Host club because on her first day she accidently knocks over an expensive vase and is told to repay it through becoming the Host Club’s errand boy. The host club decides to run a Halloween event in which teams try to scare each other. I love this episode because you just get to see the host club just be so pure especially around Haruhi. If you haven’t seen Ouran High School you should at least watch this episode if you love Halloween and a little slice of life.

And that’s all the animes! I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post as much as I did putting it all together. Like I said before we are halfway through these posts so that means we are almost to Halloween! Do you guys have any plans for Halloween? Are you trick or treating this year? Let me know these answers plus other ideas for blog posts in the comments below. I am always up to new ideas for blog posts! Until tomorrow, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and I will see you in the next blog post!
Stay Spooky!

Anime I Wish had a Second Season!

Happy Thursday/Friday (not your usual posting day Kat…) and welcome to another blog post! I’ve been sick for the past couple of days and what helps me feel better is watching anime! Last night when I was looking at anime to watch I kept on running into anime that I’ve enjoyed but wished there was a second season. So I thought I would share some of them! Often times anime love to end the season with the intent of having a second season, so they leave you on a cliffhanger or with lots of questions unanswered because they can just answer it in the next season but then because of animator shortage or the anime wasn’t as popular as they thought it would be there isn’t a second season and as a viewer you are left with a lot of unanswered questions or just left sad because you enjoyed the anime and wanted more. There are a lot of wonderful anime out there with great storylines and great characters that deserve a second season, so finding out there isn’t going to be more of that is sad. Like I’ve said in posts before, I know I can get into the manga (which I end up doing) but sometimes the manga is really hard to find, there isn’t even a manga for the anime and it isn’t the same as watching the characters come to life on a screen. Before I get into the whole conversation of the Anime Industry and the shortage of animators (which as an artist/doodler I can draw this out to be its own blog post) let’s jump into the actual blog post! Here is my list of animes that I wish had a second season!

Black Bullet

I’ve mentioned this anime before in a blog post before but the first anime I wish had a second season is Black Bullet. Black Bullet is an anime about a boy named Rentaro Satomi who lives in the world where mankind has fallen and the greatest threat to mankind are parasites named Gastrea. Rentaro fights alongside Enju Aihara against the Gastrea as well as trying to live a “normal” high school life. I love this anime so much because this anime is more than just high school life or just fighting Gastrea. You get to go deep in the characters, how the Gastrea affects their everyday life, especially Enju. Enju is also known as a “Cursed Child” due to the connection to Gastrea and throughout this anime, you see the troubles she has as a “Cursed Child” and how Rentaro helps her through them. I wish Black Bullet had a second season because you get so involved with the characters you want to know more about them as well as the fight for mankind.

No Game No Life

The second anime I wish had a second season is called No Game No Life. No Game No Life is about two siblings named Sora and Shiro who are experts at playing video games but not in the world outside their gaming room. They are so well known in the gaming world they attract a god from an alternate world and are summoned there. In the new world, Sora and Shiro do what they know what to do, and that is play games. With the help of their new friends, Sora and Shiro set out to conquer this new world playing one game at a time. I wish No Game No Life had a second season is because you just want to see what else these characters can accomplish. You get to know these characters and you start seeing their successes and you just want to see them get closer and closer to conquering the world.

The Irregular at Magic High School

The last anime I wish had a second season is called The Irregular at Magic High School. I’ve mentioned this anime before in my “Anime Tag” post as the anime that I thought was better than expected. The anime is about a pair of siblings named Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba who enroll at First High Magic High School. Tatsuya and Miyuki live in a world where magic exists through modern technology and Magic High School is a place where students can enhance and tone their magic skills. Students who enroll in Magic High School go through a test of their current magic skills are then put in a class (whether first or second course) which then guides where each student go through in their high school career. Though Tatsuya and Miyuki go through different experiences in their first semester in school (Miyuki is put in the first course while Tatsuya is in the second course) things start becoming “irregular” at school during their school festival. I wish The Irregular at Magic School had a second season is because things started becoming interesting and I need to know what happens next! There is a lot of conflict between first and second course because first course students think they are better than second course students and the enrollment of the Shiba siblings mix things up because even though Tatsuya is put in the second course his skills show that he should be in the first course and all Miyuki wants to do is be around Tatsuya because of her borderline sibling crush on him. Plus on top of all of that, we just started to get introduced to the Shiba sibling’s background and the “irregular” things happening around them. I just want to know more!

So those are the anime I wish had a second season! I do really enjoy the anime I mentioned and it makes me sad that such good and well-developed anime aren’t getting another season. But hey, maybe these anime are pulling an Attack on Titan and there is another season in the making, it’s just taking a few years. Wishful thinking aside I will continue to re-watch these series, read the manga, and find more anime to watch and love and hopefully not feel sad when there isn’t a second season. What anime do you wish had a second season? What anime have you been watching recently? I would love to know those and what anime blog post I should do next in the comments below! I hope you all are having a wonderful start to the weekend, day, whatever time it is when you are reading this (it’s late getting this post up.. But hey what’s new ;D) and I will see you in the next post!

My Favorite Anime Ending Credits!

Happy Sunday and welcome to finally another blog post! These past couple of weeks have been crazy with my weird work schedule and then I also got sick… but now I feel so much better and ready to get back in the normal groove of things! And what better way to get back into it than do an anime blog post! A little while back I did “My Favorite Anime Openings” and today it is time to show you my favorite anime endings! You know that feeling when you just went through an intense episode and it ends and goes to the credit screen and just all the intensity disappears with the beautiful song and animation that goes with it. These are the anime endings that either gave me that feeling or I loved the song so much that I had to look up the whole song and listen to it on the regular… or even both! With these types of posts, I usually do a countdown but all of these anime ending credits deserve the number one spot so I couldn’t put them in a specific order. With that being said let’s get right into it!

Bleach Ending 2 “Thank You!” by Home Made Kazoku

The first ending is from Bleach. As you know, I used to really love Bleach and this was from one of my favorite seasons. Rukia is taken by the Soul Society and Ichigo and his friends are set off to rescue her. So in the ending credits I feel the song “Thank You!” fits perfectly because it is Rukia’s way of thanking Ichigo for coming to her rescue and being a true friend even though she has accepted her fate and punishment for her crimes. This brings me so many of the nostalgic feels when I hear this because it reminds me of my early anime days. I couldn’t find a video of the actual anime ending credits but here is the song so you can hear the song.

Hunter X Hunter Ending 5

This year I finally got around to watching Hunter X Hunter. If you read my blog post “Let’s Get Chatty// Good Endings and New Beginnings”, you heard some of my thoughts and feelings about the show, but this post isn’t talking about that. Before I got to season 5 I was happy with each of the seasons. The show had little to no filler episodes so each episode was jam packed with a lot of story and character build which I loved. So of course I was excited to get drawn into a new season. But after seeing the first couple of episodes I was drawn away from it because it took a turn on a more creepy level and I wasn’t really ok with one big ant eating humans. I was about to give up on the series all together. Luckily I was encouraged to watch more and I thought since I came this far, I shouldn’t give up on it now. I am so glad I continued to watch it because this season became one of my favorite seasons in the whole show. And to bring it all together there is a wonderful anime ending credits that bring all of the season together. And the song is great as well! I don’t know what it’s called because it is in a different language but I listened to the full version and it is wonderful.

Death Parade Ending “Last Theatre”

The anime that I am currently watching is Death Parade. I was honestly first drawn in because I fell in love with the anime opening credits but really wanted to know who these characters were and what they were up to. I also learned early on that this anime is very depressing (deals with lots of death) so I had to pump myself up to watch this anime. Now that I have started watching, yes it is very sad and very intense, but it is still so good! I’m over halfway through the anime and it’s starting to get into the real intense stuff. Anywho, I was delightedly surprised when the ending credits started to how much I loved it. The intensity in this song matches perfectly to the anime and the main ending animation really does fit the anime itself. Once again, I had to look up the full song because it is so beautiful. If you haven’t seen Death Parade and are wanting a very intense anime (it has already made me cry once) you should watch it, it is so good! I can’t wait to see how the ending is.. So please no spoilers! 🙂

Black Bullet Ending “Tokohana” by Nagi Yanagi

The last anime ending is from the anime Black Bullet. Right at the get go when the ending credits start, I get goosebumps and is immediately drawn into the song and animation. Black Bullet is one of my favorite newer animes and I wish it had a second season, because the ending of the series made me question so much. I loved the story and the character development throughout the series (even though I did question one character in the end…). I love how the credit scene is through the perspective of Enju and I feel that you get a sense of how she feels deep inside with all of her responsibilities and troubles she has to endure. I also have to give credit to the singer Nagi Yanagi, she has an incredible song and you can feel her soul through her lyrics. I love in songs how even though I don’t understand what they are saying because of a language barrier but I can tell what it is about or what the message they are getting through with how the singer performs it. You can feel the way she is feeling as a listener.

So that is all of them! I really do love each and every one of these anime endings. When I need a pick me up, I go to these songs to get me pumped to write or just to feel a little better. I hope you enjoyed this post and still are enjoying these anime posts, because I really love writing them! If you have any ideas for a blog post (anime or not) please let me know in the comments below, I am always up for ideas! I hope I am able to get back in the grove of getting posts out regularly now that I am feeling so much better, so I appreciate all the patience with me! I hope you guys all have a great Memorial weekend, and I will see you on Tuesday!

Anime I Forgot About Now but Loved as a Teen!

Happy Tuesday and welcome to another blog post! I was scrolling through my anime list ideas and noticed while doing research some animes I completely forgot as an adult but loved as an a child! Now remember, I started watching anime when I was 13 years old, so I was in the midst of my pre-teen years and was still just learning about life as a girl let alone what anime was. Other than Pokemon and Digimon, I was obsessed with Romance and Comedy/Slice-of-Life anime. I didn’t start opening up to other types of anime until I became an adult. So let’s dive into the animes I totally forgot about as an adult but loved as a child/pre-teen!

Right off the back let’s talk about one of my all time favorite animes, and that is “Kodocha”. “Kodocha” revolves around a girl named Sana who is part-time an elementary student and part- time a famous child star! The show shows Sana go through life growing up trying to balance being a child star and normal girl. I love this show so much because it not only is Kodocha funny and entertaining to watch, but you get to see Sana grow up with the seasons. If you go even farther than just the anime and read the manga you find in the last arc of the series, Sana goes through depression which back then I didn’t realize that it was but now appreciates the story and the characters so much more.

Marmalade Boy

The next anime is a show called “Marmalade Boy”. This anime is about a girl named Miki whose life is turned upside down when her parents announce they are divorcing. The kick is that not only are they divorcing but are switching partners with a couple they met in Hawaii. The show revolves around Miki meeting a boy Yuu through this crazy situation and her relationship with him. I loved this show when I was little, the two main characters reminded me of an older Sana and her love interest Akito (it’s probably the hair) and even though I don’t remember much that happened in the show now, if I watched it over now, I feel like I would still like it.

Shugo Chara

The next anime is a show called “Shugo Chara”. This anime is about a shy girl named Amu who wants to fit in with the cool kids at school. She one night wishes for the courage to show her true self to others and wakes up the next morning with three little eggs in her bed. These eggs hatch to little guardians who with a “character change” give Amu a different character trait. They also each give Amu a special power that helps fight and defend herself which comes in handy when trouble brews at school. I love this anime because it is about finding courage and also shows the dreams of a child.

Full Moon O Sagashite

Oh the feels with this one. This next anime is called “Full Moon O Sagashite”. It’s about this girl named Mitsuki who dreams about being a singer but has this disease that can only be cured by a surgery that can ruin her vocal cords. One day she is visited by two shinigami (gods of death) who tell her she only has one more year to live. She decides that this is her time to act upon her dream and she is helped by the two shinigami who transforms her from a 12 year old girl to a healthy 16 year old girl to live her dreams before her year is up. I love this show so much because it shows that you should live your dreams. I also love the author of this series Arina Tanemura. She is a wonderful artist and I admire all of her work.

Gakuen Alice

The last anime I want to talk about is an anime called “Gakuen Alice”. This anime is about a girl named Mikan who follows her best friend Hotaru who moved away. What Mikan didn’t realize that she followed her to a school for elite children who hold special powers or “alice” that are unique depending on the person. The more Mikan is at the school she finds out there is a trouble in the school and it is her job to protect her one true friend. I love this show because it revolves all around friendship and nothing is stronger than the power of friendship. I also love how many cute moments are in this show!

Well there you have it… animes I forgot about now but loved as a teen! I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what animes you have forgotten about but still love as well as if you seen any of the animes I mentioned in the comments below! I hope you all have a wonderful week and I will see you all on Sunday!

Top 10 Anime Girl Crushes!

Happy Sunday and welcome to another blog post! A couple posts ago I shared my
“Top 10 Anime Crushes” and today I am here to share my anime girl crushes! While yes I am sharing this from a perspective of a straight girl, we all have to admit that at least once (especially in the anime world) we have had a girl crush. Just like my “Top 10 Anime Crushes” it was really hard to have to put these awesome characters in order and my soul crushed a little inside doing it but I did it, so let’s get started! Here are my top 10 Anime Girl Crushes!

10. Neferpitou from “Hunter X Hunter”

My first girl crush would have to be Neferpitou or Pitou from “Hunter X Hunter”. If you haven’t seen “Hunter X Hunter” she is a Chimera Ant who was created to be apart of the Royal Guard to protect the King. To be apart of the Royal Guard, you have to be pretty powerful, and she is definitely strong. Her aura that protects the castle is so powerfully evil, if you are ever caught in it, you better hope you somehow get out alive. Aside from her being completely bad-ass, she is quite perky and very funny. Out of the three Royal Guard she is the most entertaining but most dangerous.

9. Luna from “Sailor Moon”

In the “Sailor Moon S: The Movie” after being rescued, Luna falls in love with a human Kakeru, a young astronomer. While being with Kakeru, she learns of the troubles Kakeru is going through with his girlfriend Himeko and his illness and feels for him. She also feels like her love is one sided because Luna is only a cat. Later on when she is once again reunited with Usagi, Luna after learning what true love really is confesses to Usagi that she wishes that she was human to tell Kakeru how she feels. With her wish granted, for one night Luna is transformed to the beautiful Princess Kaguya and was able to tell Kakeru to go after Himeko. I’m really sad that this is the only time you get to see Luna in her human form in the anime but she is beautiful and that scene when she confessed to Usagi was a huge tear jerker.

8. Kisara Tendo from “Black Bullet”

Next in line is Kisara Tendo from “Black Bullet”. I love this anime and I love how Kisara is there who is not afraid to call out the main character Rentaro but also be there to support him as well. She is very skilled with the sword which makes her a very powerful opponent. After seeing her in the last episode though, I hope to never have to fight her. It also made me question if what her true motives are and if she may one day become evil because even Rentaro was thinking that they might be enemies one day. That’s why they need to make another season! But even though I never want to face her in a fight, she still is pretty bad ass.

7. Haruhi Fujioka from “Ouran High School Host Club”

“Ouran High School Host Club” was one of the first animes that I watched when I was first getting into anime and throughout the anime I couldn’t help but fall in love with Haruhi. On the outside you see Haruhi always calm and witty against anything Tamaki says to her but as the anime goes on and if you go further and read the manga (which you totally do) you see her open up and let a few more emotions show to Tamaki and the others. She starts to show that she as well as being calm, cool and independent, Haruhi can also be fragile that you just want to protect. I think all of these factors contributed in all the boys falling for her (some showed it more than others tehe :D). I love how throughout the show how she gets along so well with the group and how Tamaki would do anything to please her.

6. Kyoko Mogami from “Skip Beat”

While “Ouran High School Host Club” was one of the first animes I ever watched, “Skip Beat” was one of the first mangas. Right away I fell in love with Kyoko because of her many mood changes which I found hilarious. She is a very head strong girl with her goal in hand which was to take down Sho but as she acts more (and meets and spends more time with Ren more cough cough) she finds that acting is more than just getting back to an ex. Speaking of her acting, she is a great actress. With every role she plays, she gets really into character (a little too much sometimes) and really makes each character into her own. I also love how innocent Kyoko can really be and Ren always has a way to bring that out in her.

5. Touka Kirishima from “Tokyo Ghoul”

Now we are finally at my Top 5 and at number 5 is Touka Kirishima from “Tokyo Ghoul”. She is a bad-ass fighter, I wouldn’t want to be against her. And though her fighting skills are awesome and she is cool in everything she does, what I really love about her is she would do anything for the people she loves. Ghouls can’t eat human food, it makes them sick, but everyday Touka knowing she would get sick eats the lunch her best friend makes for her because she cares about their friendship. She deeply cares about the people in her life and would do anything for them and I find that so pure and lovable in a character.

4. Misaka Ackerman from “Attack on Titan”

Speaking of bad-ass fighters, next on the list is Misaka Ackerman from “Attack on Titan”. That girl knows how to fight. The strongest out of her class she can chose to be any part in the military and but Misaka has only one goal in mind, and that is to always be by Eren’s side. The love and sense of protection she feels towards Eren is so overwhelmingly adorable and is what fuels her to be a better soldier. She is also humble, with a strong sense of right and wrong and just wants to live in peace with the people she loves.

3. Nana Osaki from “Nana”

Oh “Nana”… if you haven’t seen the anime, or read the manga, I suggest you do because they are both amazing. The manga/anime revolves around two opposite girls who meet by chance on a train with the same name “Nana”. They end up living together and despite having contrasting personalities and ideals, the Nanas respect each other and become close friends. Nana Osaki is a punk rock singer who is trying to make it in the singing world without the help of her ever so attractive boyfriend Ren. She may look like a tough punk rocker but she has a kind heart and a very devoted friend, especially to Hachi (the other Nana). Throughout the manga you can see because her rough past how at times she can be possessive, dark, and afraid to lose the ones close to her. But at the same time, she is very strong beautiful woman who is living towards her dream.

2. San from “Princess Mononoke”

If you haven’t noticed I love a very strong independent female characters, and San very high in both of those. She is very strong woman who fights for what she believes in. But she also shows a little embarrassment and innocence when Ashitaka tells her she is beautiful. I think she get’s a little confused after meeting Ashitaka because still has her strong feelings of hatred for the humans for destroying the forest but finds herself wanting to be with Ashitaka at the same time. San is not afraid to fight for what she believes in and that is something I always strive for.

1. Sophie Hatter from “Howl’s Moving Castle”

We are finally to number 1!! Sophie Hatter is my number 1 anime girl crush because of so many reasons. At the beginning of the movie, you see Sophie just living a life that she was inherited by her father. She shows that as the oldest daughter she has responsibilities and needs to put her own hopes and dreams aside to let the people around her live their lives even if that means sacrificing a better life for herself. But after being cursed, she sets out to find the witch who cursed her but in the end, she finds a home where she truly belongs and people who become her family. I love seeing Sophie grow to the strong girl she is throughout the movie and that gives her the number one spot in my anime girl crush list.

So that’s the list! I hope you enjoyed this list, and if you have any other ideas for my “Anime Top List” posts, comment down below. Also let me know who are your favorite anime girl crushes, I would love to see them! I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and I will see you all on Tuesday!

Anime Tag!!

Hi friends and welcome to another blog post! One of the videos I saw from Kelly Eden when I was binge watching was the Anime Tag and what better way to start my new motivation kick then by starting with an Anime Tag!! There’s 22 questions so let’s get into it! (Warning: It is very hard for me to choose so most of them have 2 answers! :D)

1. Who is your favorite anime character?

My favorite anime character by far would have to be Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket. In the show he is the bad boy of the group always pushing Tohru (the main character) away and always running away (but always comes back when he’s hungry). He may act like a “bad boy” on the outside but on the inside he’s just looking for acceptance and love, which you get to see throughout the show and even more in the manga as he opens up to Tohru.

2. Who is your favorite Female anime character?

I have two favorite female anime characters. The first one is of course Usagi Tsukino aka Sailor Moon. Not only do I love her because I grew up with her as a child who loves anime but I love her character growth. We all know Usagi as the clumsy crybaby in the first season but throughout the seasons we see her grow not only as a Sailor Scout but as a person.

My second favorite anime character is Sophie Hatter from Studio Ghibli’s “Howl’s Moving Castle”. Throughout the movie you get to see Sophie grow as a person through the curse and meeting Howl and the gang. Plus Old Sophie is one of the most hilarious characters ever.

3. What is your favorite anime soundtrack?

Speaking of “Howl’s Moving Castle” the soundtrack is amazing. I do love all of Joe Hisaishi’s work, but the work in this soundtrack is my favorite of all time. Every time I feel anxious or sad the theme song always makes me feel better.
My second favorite soundtrack is the soundtrack to one of my all time favorite anime,

“Angel Beats”. When I’m working on doodles or blog posts, “Crow Song” is always on repeat. The awesome beat always gets me in the mood to work on stuff for you guys! Also if you haven’t seen the show, the song is in the first episode and is what helped me get drawn to the show. Here’s the scene!:

4. What is your favorite anime opening animation?

The first season of Sailor Moon in English Dub. I remember when I was little, every time that opening would start I would go straight to the tv to watch it. Even as an adult I have all the words memorized.

With that being said I also love the opening to Sailor Moon Crystal. I was so excited that they were remaking the series and the first time I heard the opening credits I started crying with all the overwhelming feelings. It was just like when I first fell in love with the show.

5. What is your favorite ending song and animation?

My favorite anime ending would be the ending to the anime “Black Bullet”. The song is so gorgeous and goes perfect with the anime that I couldn’t just listen to the song clipped for the animation, I had to look up the actual song. I actually just recently rewatched “Black Bullet” with David and usually with anime we skip the ending credits, but I made David listen to it every episode, which he was kind of enough to not complain. So thank you David.

Here is the ending sequence!

My second favorite anime ending sequence is the 2nd ending song to “Bleach”. This is during the season where Rukia is taken to the Soul Society and Ichigo and the others have to go rescue her. I love this ending because the song “Thank You” is so catchy and it’s like Rukia is saying Thank you for rescuing her.

Here is the ending sequence!

6. What is your Favorite Anime Scene?

My favorite anime scene would have to be the ending scene from “Angel Beats”. If you haven’t seen Angel Beats you might wanna skip this question but if you have, oh man you know what scene I am talking about. In the last episode everyone had finally made peace with themselves and passed on from the high school except for Otonashi and Kanade. Before they pass on Otonashi wanted to tell Kanade his true feelings. I won’t get too into it (you have to see it for yourself) but after she passed and then he pass, the scene goes to another life and Otonashi is a student leaning on a building. A girl passes by humming a certain song and Otonashi has to chase and grab the girl’s arm who is Kanade. It is the most saddest, happiest ending in anime history.

7. If you had to meet any anime character who would it be?

If I had to meet any anime character it would definitely have to meet Usagi Tsukino aka Sailor Moon. I feel like I can relate to her a lot and I feel like we would have such a great time hanging together. Plus she can introduce me to the other scouts! :))

8. What is your favorite thing about anime?

I really enjoyed Kelly’s answer which is the variety that anime has and storytelling. When I first got into anime, I admit, I just thought that most anime was about a plain high school girl getting the most popular guy to fall in love with her, but boy was I wrong. Anime can take you to any world during any time and still be relatable to you.

9. What is your least favorite thing about anime?

Long drawn out fight scenes. Are you a fan of “Bleach” and/or “Naruto”?? Now I love “Bleach” (“Naurto”, not so much), the first couple of seasons are in my top anime list but the reason why I stopped watching “Bleach” and even stopped reading the manga is because of the long drawn out fight scenes. Fight scenes are great (spoiler alert, there is a bleach fight scene as an answer in this tag) they can make or break an scene, but when it gets drawn out and it takes 3-5 episodes or 5-10 really short manga chapters than I get bored and just want it to be done.

10. Who is your favorite anime animal?

Ok, I have three. The first one would of course be Kyo from “Fruits Basket”. Kyo as a character is very sassy but when he transforms into the cat, his sassiness shows even more.

The second one is Luna from “Sailor Moon”. Who wouldn’t want a smart sassy black cat?

And the last favorite animal is Kirara from “Inuyasha”. She is so adorable in both forms and so bad ass as her full grown self.

11. What anime would make a good game?

I’m going to be honest, but I don’t actually play video games… but I would love to get into them (like final fantasy and kingdom hearts) so I feel I can’t answer this question.

12. What was the first anime you ever watched?

Me being the 90’s child I am of course my first anime was Pokemon and Digimon. Other than those two if you read my last blog post you know that “Spirited Away” was also one of the first animes I was introduced to. Followed by those were “Cardcaptor Sakura” and of course “Sailor Moon”.

13. Do you think you’ll ever stop watching anime?

14. What was your first genre of anime?

15. What is your least favorite genre of anime?

When Kelly did the anime tag, I really agreed with Kelly’s answer to this question which was the anime that do a little too much fan-service. When I say fan-service I mean when a show sexualizing female or male bodies. It doesn’t bother me when they do it a little bit but when it starts overpowering the anime it starts to bug me. If it bugs me enough, I will stop watching the show all together.

16. Are you open about watching anime with people you know?

Of course! Me and David have this thing where when we watch anime we each take turn choosing what anime we watch. This gives us a chance to show our favorite anime to each other plus let us find new anime. Plus anytime I can show someone Howl’s Moving Castle I will totally take that chance!

17. Have you ever been to Japan?

Sadly no :(( but one day I would love to go!

18. What anime was the biggest let down for you?

“Aldnoah Zero”. It was such a great show, but the last episode during the last fight scene they killed off the main protagonist and it just kinda ended there. I was left at the end thinking what the hell just happened. I just learned recently that there was a season two, and I do want to watch it, I guess I am still getting over the ending of season one. If you have watched season two “Aldnoah Zero” let me know what you guys thought of it. I would love to know that the second season is worth it.

19. What anime was better than expected?

“The Irregular at Magic High School”. I was scrolling through hulu looking for something to watch and I came across this anime, and just kind of clicked on it. Suddenly I was a few episode in and made sure to watch every new episode. I’m really sad they didn’t make another season (or they have and I don’t know about it), it will be an anime I will show David!

20. What is the best anime fight scene?

Remember a few questions ago when I said that one of the “Bleach” fighting scenes is an answer to one of the questions? Well here it is! One of my favorite anime fight scenes would have to be the fight between Ichigo and Ulquirra in “Bleach”. I love this because I honestly love Ulquirra (even though I was sad to see him die). I loved the weird relationship he had with Orihime and everything that Ichigo went through leading to this fight. I remember sitting through these episodes (of course it’s “Bleach” so it took a couple episodes for the whole fight scene) so anxious and hoping Ulquirra wouldn’t die… but of course Ichigo wins the fight and I was sad to see Ulquirra die. I guess there will never be an antagonist like Ulquirra.

21. Who is your anime Husbando?

I love that this question is next because speaking of Ulquirra, he is one of my 3 husbandos! Something about his cool and yet cold attitude made me fall in love with him.

If you haven’t guessed by now, my second husbando would be the one and only Kyo Sohma, the sassy cool cat.

My last husbando is Howl from “Howl’s Moving Castle”. Something about the cool boys always gets to me.

22. What was your favorite video game as a child?

Once again I didn’t play any video games but oddly enough (it could be the artist in me) I love watching them. My old roommate was a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts and she decided to replay it when we were living together. After watching her play it once it kind of started to become a little tradition that every night when we would both come home from a long day at work we would sit in the living room and she would play, I would watch. One day if I ever do decide to start getting into playing games Kingdom Hearts would be the first followed by Final Fantasy.

And that was the last question! I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post. Let me know what you guys thought or any animes you really enjoyed or didn’t enjoy. Speaking of anime you least enjoy, I did mention my uncommon opinion that I don’t enjoy the ever so popular anime “Naruto”. My question for you guys would be, would you guys like me to write a post about why I don’t like “Naruto”? Let me know in the comments below! Also since I’m here full of questions, how do you guys feel about me posting on Tuesdays? My schedule is still pretty weird and it just keeps on changing so I’m not really sure what day blog posts are coming up. Plus I’m still trying to catch up with my Blog Post Goal for this year, so I’ve been trying to post twice a week. Plus I have many new blog post ideas I can’t wait to share with you.

I hope you guys have a great week and I will see you in the next blog post!

Recap of February//The Month of Motivation

Hello and welcome to another blog post! March is coming this week so this blog post would normally be a recap of the last month and then a “Plan With Me” for the next month but after this past month I have come to the conclusion that I have no need for a Bullet Journal.

Now why would I already give up on Bullet Journaling when it’s only the 2nd month in the new year? Well I’m glad you asked, I have two points on why Bullet Journaling isn’t right for me.

Good Intentions, but Never Used it

Like I said in the Introduction to my Bullet Journal blog is that I already have an agenda that I love and use almost everyday so Bullet Journaling for me wasn’t for the monthly and weekly spreads. What I was hoping to use mine for instead was to keep track of some habits and more importantly to record and keep track of my Doodle and Blog Goal. In the end the only real page I really used (other than my Doodle and Blog Goal) was the notes page and my “A Year in Pixels” Page. I had good intentions with the tracker page, but by the time I went to fill it out, it was for a Recap Blog post and I would forget if I drank water every day in the past month.

My Time Can Be Used for Something Else

When I was researching bullet journaling, what really attracted me to bullet journaling was the creative fonts and making each page colorful and creative. With the pages I did make I really enjoyed doing them (like my last February home page, I loved it!). A page like that took about 15 minutes and doing multiple pages took about an hour. Now I know that’s not a lot of time, but for the little to no time I actually used the bullet journal to how much time i’m spending in making each page wasn’t enough for me to keep wanting to do it. I have a lot I’m working on you guys whether be new ideas for blog posts and a huge huge project that I’m so close to sharing and that hour spent making pages for a journal I don’t even use could be used towards getting something I’m really into and excited for out there for you guys.

What does this mean for my Recap Posts?

I may be done with Bullet Journaling (and maybe I’ll wanna get back into it again one day) but I really enjoyed giving you guys a recap of the past month. It not only lets you guys know what I was up to in the past month but a way for me to look back and see how I can grow as a person with each new month. Also if I say something that I’m gonna do next month, I have to do it cause it’s in “ink” ;).

So let’s get into the Recap of February!

Recap of February

Blog Post Motivation

This month was all about re-finding myself in a way. January was rough so going into a new month I wanted to do better for myself. I first started with my lack of blog posting. I went from writing a new blog post every week in December to barley writing in December. Was it because I needed a break after writing so much for Doodlemas? Was it because my anxiety and seasonal depression? In the end it all came down to lack of motivation. Thinking of ideas took way too long because I couldn’t think of what people would want to read. When I finally got an idea that I could stick with it took forever to write because I kept getting distracted and had lack of motivation to finish so I just gave up on them. And then one day when I was browsing around Youtube I found this Youtuber named Kelly Eden. I was introduced to her channel through a Sailor Moon Ring unboxing. I love Sailor Moon, it was one of my first favorite animes as a kid so of course I clicked on it. The next thing I knew I was binge watching all of her videos. Something about her bubbly personality and how she does not care what people think about her made me want to do the same. Watching videos of her and her friends who also have that mindset I think really made me question what I was doing.

In the end when it comes to blog posts, I’m still not where I want to be. But thanks to Kelly and her friends I can feel the motivation and spark come back to blogging, and blogging about what I truly want to blog about, which is me. So if you enjoyed my post with “Studio Ghibli” you’ll be seeing a lot more of those in the future!

If you follow me on Instagram you already know this, but I reached my 100 Doodle Goal this month! I guess a little motivation goes a long way! If I already reached the goal of 100 two months in the year, how many doodles will be done by the end of the year!!

A Year in Pixels

If anything good came out of my Bullet Journaling, it was finding the “A Year in Pixels” page. This may sound weird, but I really think using this page helps me with my anxiety and I’m hoping at the end of the year when I look back at it I can see how much control I really do have on it. I decided since I’m going to continue with the page I want to make it look a lot cleaner, so I made it digital!

February Favorites

Also since I am no longer doing a “Plan With Me” for the next month I thought I would share some of my favorites of the month to take its place.

Favorite Memory: It was really nice outside so David (my boyfriend) and I took around the park. It was really nice spending time with him outside and enjoying the nice weather (70 degrees in February!)

Current Song Obsession: “Body Moves” by DNCE. I first heard this song on a Spotify ad and I couldn’t stop laughing when I first saw it.

Current Favorite Anime/Show: David and I spent this month mostly watching Samurai Jack on Hulu. I loved watching it when it originally came out on Cartoon Network when I was a kid and I can’t wait for the revamp of it to come out next month.

All together, this month was a good month. After this month I feel like I’m going to be able to write more blog posts and get on track with my blog post goal. I also can’t wait to share with you guys the big project that I’ve been working on. I’ve worked really hard on it!

How was your February? Did you do anything memorable or have a favorite show for me and David to watch? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you have a wonderful day and I will see you in the next post!
