Reasons Why Autumn is the Best Season!

Happy Tuesday/Wednesday and welcome to another blog post! Autumn weather finally hit here after days and days of rain and as I stepped outside today I was reminded once again oh how wonderful Autumn is. I live in the midwest so I get to experience all four seasons of the year and though each has its perks I always seem to look forward to Autumn most of all. For today’s post, I thought it would share with you why I think Autumn is the best season. So let’s get into it, here is why I think Autumn is the best season!

Colorful Leaves and Brisk Breeze

So like I said before, Autumn weather has finally hit where I am. The last couple weeks it has either been really cold in the morning and then hot in the afternoon or just rainy all day but the last couple of days it has been the perfect Autumn weather. In the morning it has been cold and instead of it being hot and humid like it was before it stays cold but the sun is out so it feels a little warmer. Weather like this is perfect for walks and by the end of it you won’t be sweating your cute Autumn makeup off.

Speaking of Autumn walks another reason I love Autumn is for the leaves changing colors. I love all the different shades of burnt reds, oranges, and yellows. Something about the leaves falling and feeling the brisk breeze makes my heart warm.

My Color of Life!

One of my favorite colors of all time is Burgundy and Maroon. It is such a dark deep beautiful red and looks beautiful on pretty much anything. From fashion and makeup to hair color I will instantly fall in love with whatever this color is on. Autumn is the time where my color of life comes out and stock up on things to get me through the rest of the year.

The Darker the Better

Speaking of makeup, Autumn is the season for darker and more dramatic makeup. As much as I love makeup and posting makeup reviews I am not the greatest at makeup, especially eye makeup. Even though I’m not the greatest I love to watch Autumn makeup tutorials and drool over my dream palette Morphe 35F. Autumn is also the time to bring out all of my favorite dark lip colors as well. I mean I wear my color of life on my lips all year round but it’s more suitable during this time of year.

Sweaters and More!

Going along with the fashion/makeup part of Autumn, I can’t get enough of Autumn fashion. As much as I love summer dresses, I always look forward to the day when I can put away my shorts and summer dresses and pull out the sweaters, scarves coats and boots from hiding. It is so hard going to shops and not buying every single sweater I see because they are so soft and so comfy and they are all I wear during Autumn. This Autumn I’ve been really been getting into mustard yellow and of course, my color of life :).

This Is Halloween

How can I talk about Autumn and not mention the best holiday ever? If you don’t know already, I live for Halloween 365 days of the year. I loved it as a kid for the costumes, pumpkin carving, and the great movies, and even though I don’t get to do as much for Halloween as an adult my love for Halloween is still there, maybe even more. Plus as an adult, I can eat all the Halloween I want and no one can tell me no… especially when that candy is on clearance.

Blankets, Hot Chocolate, Comfort Food and Cuddling

The last thing I love about Autumn is being able to cuddle up in a layer of blankets and enjoy hot chocolate, coffee or a bowl of chili or stew. One of the things I love to do (especially in October) is have friends come over and have a Halloween movie marathon while enjoying these comfort foods. Plus with it being cold out, it is a great excuse to cuddle up with your special someone.

Conclusion

So that is why I think Autumn is the best season! I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did writing it! What is your favorite part of Autumn? Are you getting excited for Halloween now that we are in the middle of October? Let me know in the comments below those as well as ideas for other blog posts, I’m always open to new ideas! I hope you guys are enjoying the best month of the year, I got a lot of stuff I am working on for you and I can’t wait to share them with you! Hope you have a great rest of the week and as always, I will see you in the next blog post!

XOXO,
Kat

My Favorite Anime Characters!

Happy Sunday/Monday and welcome to another blog post! Today I wanted to share with you my favorite anime characters! I’ve shared my anime crushes and my anime girl crushes before but I haven’t shared just my favorite characters. Have you ever watched a show and there’s a character (or a few characters) that you just fall in love with? Not in love like towards a husbando or a wifey but you just can’t help but fall in love with for being awesome. So without further ado, here are my favorite anime characters! You will notice that some of the characters come from the same show so I guess that shows how awesome the anime is if there’s a lot of lovable characters.

Ikalgo from Hunter X Hunter

The first character is actually the character that made me want to do this blog post and that character is Ikalgo from Hunter X Hunter. Ikalgo is an octopus like Chimera Ant from the Chimera Ant Arc who used to be a officer but was turned over after having an encounter with one of the main characters Killua (don’t want to say any spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen the series). I love Ikalgo so much because after joining the gang he is so loyal to Killua. Plus he’s the comedic relief in the season as well.

Seiya Kou from Sailor Moon Stars

How could I do an anime blog post and not have a Sailor Moon character in it?! One of my favorite seasons (maybe my favorite season of all time) of Sailor Moon would be the 5th and final season Sailor Stars. One of the reasons why I love this season is because this character. His name is Seiya Kou otherwise known as Sailor Star Fighter. I love him because he is so in love with Usagi and I am all for team Seiya and Usagi. He cares about her so much and would do anything for her and even though I do love Mamoru and Usagi I still would have loved to see Seiya and Usagi together.

Sasha Blouse from Attack on Titan

Now we are at that part where multiple characters come from the same show. And to start off is Sasha Blouse from Attack on Titan. She is a member of the Survey Corpse as well as Eren and the gang but is more of the laid back chilled characters. In season one you knew her as the one who loved food but in Season 2 you get to know more of her as a character which is great. If you have watched Attack on Titan you know how gory, serious and intense the show is so when there is a comic relief you cherish it because then you know the show is going to throw something intense your way. Sasha Blouse is that comic relief.

Hange Zoe from Attack on Titan

Another favorite character from Attack on Titan is squad leader Hange Zoe. I love her so much because she sees the Titans more than just predators. Whenever she gets the slightest chance to learn more about the Titans she jumps right into it with big eyes and excitement. With her influence, the Survey Corpse are not just trying to kill all Titans but learn about them as well.

Abel Nightroad from Trinity Blood

I’ve talked about this show before but if you haven’t read my last anime blog post where I first talked about Trinity Blood I just said that when I was little and first started watching anime I would sneak downstairs to the basement of the house that I grew up in to watch Trinity Blood and other animes because my parents wouldn’t let me stay up to watch it (I worded it wrong in the last post, I said in the other one that my parents wouldn’t let me watch it not because of the anime but because it was too late at night and I should be in bed, so my bad). Now when I was younger I was more into the Magical Girl genre with Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura then the darker let alone any anime about religion so why was I willing to sneak to the basement to watch Trinity Blood? The characters is one of the big reasons why I kept going back for more. One of the characters is the main character Abel Nightroad. Abel has two sides which makes me love him. He has the serious side when he’s on a mission and then at other times he’s a child stuck in an adult’s body, especially when it comes with finding food. Also when a friend is in need of someone Abel listens and is there for his friends. He makes a worthy good main character, worth enough to name my car after.

Ion Fortuna from Trinity Blood

Another character I love from Trinity Blood is Ion Fortuna. Ion is not only a Methuselah (aka a vampire according to humans) but the Earl of Memphis. How Ion’s, Abel’s and Esther Blanchett’s (I talked about her in the last anime blog post) path cross is because Ion was sent from Empress Augusta Vradica as a secret envoy to talk to Cardinal Caterina about taking a step toward peace between vampires and humans. The meeting was interrupted by an attack and then betrayed by his best friend after that Abel and Esther try to get him to Cardinal Caterina. I love Ion because in the few episodes he is you see him grow. Before everything happened Ion hated humans (or Terrans as the Methuselah would call them) who were outside of the Empire but after spending some time with Esther he has matured and have had a change of heart when it comes to Terrans. He even finds himself having feelings for Esther which I am totally down for.

Seth Nightlord from Trinity Blood

My last favorite character from Trinity Blood is Seth Nightlord. You first see Seth as this cute, cheery little town girl selling tea and helping Esther and Ion on there adventure but then she ends up revealing to the gang that she is the true Empress Augusta Vradica of the New Empire who has been in hiding in case of an assassination attempt (which spoiler alert, there was an attempt). We also find out that she is Abel’s youngest sibling (which I should have known, their personalities are similar) and that their older brother is up to no good (don’t want to spoil it). I love her so much because she is such a lovable character and just brings a smile to your face. Also who else loves the name Seth for a girl? I know I do.

Conclusion

So that’s all my favorite characters! I hope you all enjoyed this blog post as much as I did writing it! I just wanted to say before I end this blog post that these are my favorite characters personally and no way in any shape or form by sharing these characters are saying that they should be everyone’s favorite characters or that they are better than other characters, because there are some awesome characters out there in the anime world, I just have a special love for these individual characters for own reasons. Everyone has different opinions on characters and different reasons to love or favorite a certain character, these are just mine that I wanted to share. That being said I would love to hear what are your favorite characters and why you love them in the comments below as well as any ideas for more anime blogs. I hope you guys have a wonderful start of your week and I will see you soon in another blog post!

Characters I Want to Cosplay!

Happy Sunday/Monday and welcome to another blog post! It’s finally October so you know what that means… it’s time to celebrate the best time of the year with Halloween blog posts! So to start out I thought that I would talk about what cosplays I would love to do one day! In the past few months I’ve been really inspired (with the help of Kelly Eden and her friends and Jessica Nigri) to want to get into cosplaying. I’ve always loved the idea of it and how cosplayers can bring a character to life just with an outfit and a wig! Also I love the idea of working on something and being able to show it off at a convention and see other cosplayers work as well and build off of it. And with Halloween just around the corner (heads up, there is going to be a Halloween costume post coming this month so look forward to that), I would love to think I could go to anime conventions, afford the cosplays and have the self confidence to do it but since I can’t right now all I can do is work on those things and plan out the ones I would love to do!.

I split the cosplays in three separate parts: Individual, Couples and lastly Groups. That being said, let’s get right into it! Here are Characters I Want to Cosplay!

Individual

Sailor Moon

So of course with my love for Sailor Moon, Usagi aka Sailor moon would make my Cosplay list. But there are more than one version I would like to cosplay. These include:

Sailor Moon in her original Sailor Suit,

The suit in armor (found the photo on Pinterest and loved it),

Usagi in her school uniform,

Punk Usagi,

And Usagi in casual clothes.

Princess Serenity/Neo-Queen Serenity

Of course if I want to cosplay Sailor Moon, then naturally I would want to cosplay Princess Serenity and then Neo-Queen Serenity. I’ve always loved the dress since I watched Sailor Moon as a young girl and would love to be able to wear the dress and portray that character.

Luna

When I was little and I watched Luna transform from a cat to a human In Sailor Moon S: Hearts in Ice I knew I loved how cute she was. Now knowing that cosplay is a thing as an adult I would love to one day be able to bring that childhood dream into life!

Wicked Lady

Wicked Lady is one of my favorite villains in Sailor Moon so I would love to be able to cosplay her.

As well as the punk Usagi picture I found I found a punk Wicked Lady as well that would look awesome.

Ochako Uraraka

My latest anime obsession has been the show My Hero Academia. One of my favorite characters is name Ochako Uraraka and she is just the cutest! Just like Sailor Moon there are a couple different ways I would like to cosplay Ochako.

Ochako in her school uniform,

In her superhero outfit,

In Deku’s superhero outfit,

And my favorite in Katsuki’s superhero outfit.

Now I don’t know if you have seen My Hero Academia or not, but it looks like the show is leaning towards Ochako and Deku getting together, but I would love to see it turn around and Ochako and Katsuki get together. If you’ve seen My Hero Academia tell me what you think? Team Deku or Team Katsuki?

Attack on Titan Girls

We all know my love for Attack on Titan and if I were to cosplay I would be two characters:

Mikasa Ackerman

And after watching Season 2, I would love to cosplay Christa, or should I say…

Historia Reiss

Studio Ghibli Girls

I love Studio Ghibli and one day I would love to be able to cosplay some of my favorite characters. Some included are:

Sophie Hatter from Howl’s Moving Castle

And

San from Princess Mononoke

Sakura Kinomoto

Other than Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura was one of the first Magical Girls I was introduced to as a young girl. Cardcaptor Sakura will always be one of my favorite shows from my childhood. I love this dress from the Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: The Sealed Card.

Esther Blanchett

Last but not least in the Individual section is Sister Esther Blanchett from Trinity Blood. I loved this show when I was first started watching anime, I remember sneaking downstairs to watch this and other shows on Funimation because my parents wouldn’t let me watch it upstairs. I found this photo on Pinterest and I just love the extra details on her outfit.

Couples

If I could find someone who would cosplay them with me these are the Couples cosplay I would love to get the chance to cosplay.

Sophie and Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle

San and Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke

Father Abel and Sister Esther from Trinity Blood

Sakura and Syaoran from Cardcaptor Sakura

Pink and Green Ranger from MIghty Morphin PowerRangers

Childhood show I loved! I’d even be ok with the white ranger!

Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy

Can’t forget my love for super-heroes!

Groups

Last but not least, the final group of cosplays are Groups. Cosplaying would be fun, but it would be more fun with a group of friends. Here are the cosplay groups I would love to cosplay one day.

Sailor Scouts

It would be my dream to be able to get a group to be able to cosplay the sailor scouts with my closest friends.

Original Suits

Armor Suits

When I was looking at Pinterest and when I clicked on the armor suit for Sailor Moon but I then found another picture but with the group. Whoever drew this and designed the suits I want to thank because they are gorgeous and I would love to bring those to life one day.

My Hero Academia Group

I can’t get enough of this anime so I would love to one day be able to cosplay it, especially with friends. There are a couple of group cosplays for My Hero Academia which include:

Students

I especially would love to get a group of girls together to do just the girls in their uniforms!

Hero Outfits

Girls as Cheerleaders

Because who didn’t love the school festival and the girls in cheerleading uniforms!

Eeveevolutions

Eevee is my favorite Pokemon of all time, when I turn on my Pokemon App I always see if there is an Eevee to catch to add to my army so I would love to be able to cosplay as Eevee and all of the evolutions. I really love how Jessica Nigri’s cosplay group of them.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Like I said in the couples section Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was one of my favorite shows as a kid and is still the best season of Power Rangers in my opinion. I would love to not only cosplay the group as Rangers but in their casual wear as well.

Conclusion

Well that’s my list of characters I want to cosplay! I hope you enjoyed this post! Would you be interested in cosplay? If you are what characters would you want to portray? Comment below those as well as ideas for more blog posts, Halloween or not! I hope you are having a great start to the best month of the year and I will see you in the next post!

Anime I Wish had a Second Season!

Happy Thursday/Friday (not your usual posting day Kat…) and welcome to another blog post! I’ve been sick for the past couple of days and what helps me feel better is watching anime! Last night when I was looking at anime to watch I kept on running into anime that I’ve enjoyed but wished there was a second season. So I thought I would share some of them! Often times anime love to end the season with the intent of having a second season, so they leave you on a cliffhanger or with lots of questions unanswered because they can just answer it in the next season but then because of animator shortage or the anime wasn’t as popular as they thought it would be there isn’t a second season and as a viewer you are left with a lot of unanswered questions or just left sad because you enjoyed the anime and wanted more. There are a lot of wonderful anime out there with great storylines and great characters that deserve a second season, so finding out there isn’t going to be more of that is sad. Like I’ve said in posts before, I know I can get into the manga (which I end up doing) but sometimes the manga is really hard to find, there isn’t even a manga for the anime and it isn’t the same as watching the characters come to life on a screen. Before I get into the whole conversation of the Anime Industry and the shortage of animators (which as an artist/doodler I can draw this out to be its own blog post) let’s jump into the actual blog post! Here is my list of animes that I wish had a second season!

Black Bullet

I’ve mentioned this anime before in a blog post before but the first anime I wish had a second season is Black Bullet. Black Bullet is an anime about a boy named Rentaro Satomi who lives in the world where mankind has fallen and the greatest threat to mankind are parasites named Gastrea. Rentaro fights alongside Enju Aihara against the Gastrea as well as trying to live a “normal” high school life. I love this anime so much because this anime is more than just high school life or just fighting Gastrea. You get to go deep in the characters, how the Gastrea affects their everyday life, especially Enju. Enju is also known as a “Cursed Child” due to the connection to Gastrea and throughout this anime, you see the troubles she has as a “Cursed Child” and how Rentaro helps her through them. I wish Black Bullet had a second season because you get so involved with the characters you want to know more about them as well as the fight for mankind.

No Game No Life

The second anime I wish had a second season is called No Game No Life. No Game No Life is about two siblings named Sora and Shiro who are experts at playing video games but not in the world outside their gaming room. They are so well known in the gaming world they attract a god from an alternate world and are summoned there. In the new world, Sora and Shiro do what they know what to do, and that is play games. With the help of their new friends, Sora and Shiro set out to conquer this new world playing one game at a time. I wish No Game No Life had a second season is because you just want to see what else these characters can accomplish. You get to know these characters and you start seeing their successes and you just want to see them get closer and closer to conquering the world.

The Irregular at Magic High School

The last anime I wish had a second season is called The Irregular at Magic High School. I’ve mentioned this anime before in my “Anime Tag” post as the anime that I thought was better than expected. The anime is about a pair of siblings named Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba who enroll at First High Magic High School. Tatsuya and Miyuki live in a world where magic exists through modern technology and Magic High School is a place where students can enhance and tone their magic skills. Students who enroll in Magic High School go through a test of their current magic skills are then put in a class (whether first or second course) which then guides where each student go through in their high school career. Though Tatsuya and Miyuki go through different experiences in their first semester in school (Miyuki is put in the first course while Tatsuya is in the second course) things start becoming “irregular” at school during their school festival. I wish The Irregular at Magic School had a second season is because things started becoming interesting and I need to know what happens next! There is a lot of conflict between first and second course because first course students think they are better than second course students and the enrollment of the Shiba siblings mix things up because even though Tatsuya is put in the second course his skills show that he should be in the first course and all Miyuki wants to do is be around Tatsuya because of her borderline sibling crush on him. Plus on top of all of that, we just started to get introduced to the Shiba sibling’s background and the “irregular” things happening around them. I just want to know more!

Conclusion

So those are the anime I wish had a second season! I do really enjoy the anime I mentioned and it makes me sad that such good and well-developed anime aren’t getting another season. But hey, maybe these anime are pulling an Attack on Titan and there is another season in the making, it’s just taking a few years. Wishful thinking aside I will continue to re-watch these series, read the manga, and find more anime to watch and love and hopefully not feel sad when there isn’t a second season. What anime do you wish had a second season? What anime have you been watching recently? I would love to know those and what anime blog post I should do next in the comments below! I hope you all are having a wonderful start to the weekend, day, whatever time it is when you are reading this (it’s late getting this post up.. But hey what’s new ;D) and I will see you in the next post!

Kat

Back to School Tips// Little Update on Me!!

Hello and welcome to another blog post! I know it’s been a very VERY long time since I’ve written a blog post but a lot has happened this past month. So much that the stress of trying to keep up with my blog schedule was a stress I could not handle. I could get into more of it but things are still pretty stressful and a lot of things around me are changing all at once. And though life has knocked me down multiple times this past month at the end of the day I still have my dreams. After a long and hard day dealing with stress and my lack of mental health I still have the things in life that keep me happy and keep me working through it all. That is why as of today instead of sitting around and dealing with the stress, anxiety, and depression that is growing inside of me I want to get back into going after my dream so I thought I would first come here and say hello!

One of the things that happened this past month that was planned (no matter how much I didn’t want it to) was that I celebrated my 25th birthday! Yes, the big 25…the halfway point of saying goodbye to the last of my young years and hello to true adulthood. Now, normally people my age are out of college and starting adulthood with the job of their dreams. If not working on their careers, they are getting married, or are already married and having a family. Or they have both their dream career and a family.

I am definitely not normal. As well all know well by now. I am neither working at my dream job or married and have a family of my own. I am slowly working my way through college by working a full-time job to pay for college all out of pocket with no help financially. Before I was emotionally stuck in the middle between feeling like I needed to get through college and start my career but now that I’m 25 the emotions of getting married and starting to have a family is now in the mix. All these emotions are very confusing and at times overwhelming.

So when life throws things my way all at once I have to put my college plan aside to get through it. I know I’m working my way and when I do finally reach those goals I will be debt free and a better place but right now it is hard for me mentally and emotionally because I watched my fellow classmates graduate and now I get to see all the stuff they accomplish while I feel like I am going nowhere.

Unfortunately, with everything going on, I couldn’t afford to take classes this fall semester, which makes me feel like I am once again taking a step back instead of forwards towards a better future.

So to try not to let all the emotions get to me (more than it already has) I thought it would be a fun idea to give some back to school tips to the readers who are going to school this semester! So without further ado and this long intro let’s get into the tips!

Study Hard!

This one is self-explanatory. You want to have fun but also remember that you are in school to get an education and learn something… so might as well do that while you are there!

Get plenty of sleep!

Sleep is very important. Without it, paying attention in class is a lot harder and you could miss out on important information that could be on an exam! Plus getting a good night’s rest sets you up for success and you wake up feeling ready for the day!

Set lots of alarms!

I was never a morning person (still as an adult I am still not) so it is always a good idea to set multiple alarms. If you don’t wake up to the first alarm, you’ll sooner or later wake up if you have multiple ones!

Do not get in the habit of getting to class late!

We are all human so being late is bound to happen to all of us. But if you make a habit of getting to class late, it could not only get in the way of your grades but can create worse habits down the line. So get in the habit of being on time first before getting in the habit of being late!

Get homework done/study for tests!

Speaking of getting in good habits, get in the habit of getting homework done right when you get home. I know homework is a pain and no one wants to do it but the sooner you get it done the more time you have to do other things!

Always write down due dates/test exam days!

You don’t want to be that person who forgot about the exam and is suddenly cramming in as much studying as they can before the test. Always keep a planner with you to stay organized with major due dates and exam days. A planner is also useful for writing down events or a work schedule if you add on a part time job.

Have confidence while taking exams!

Unless you forgot about the exam and crammed everything at the end if you took the time to study for an exam have confidence going into the exam! I know test taking was always the hardest for me personally so from experience just knowing that you did your best to prepare for the exam can help get yourself through the test with confidence!

Keep your friends close!

Your friends are your biggest supporters. Not only are they there to have sleepovers and talk about boys but in a way, they can empower you to be better in school and in after school activities. Plus if you have a close friend in a class you don’t enjoy, that class can become a little more bearable knowing your friend is in the same class.

Make new friends!

Are you going to a new school this year? Or are you in a class that none of your friends are in? Now would be a great opportunity to make new friends! I know it’s a scary (even as an adult, I am scared to introducing myself let alone opening myself up to new people) but you could end up making a really good friend in the end!

Don’t let boys get in the way of schoolwork!…

SCHOOLWORK IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE CUTE BOY WHO SITS IN FRONT OF YOU! Don’t let them distract you from getting homework done and getting good grades. Yes, dating can be fun but if you get hurt your grades will pay for it as well.

…or get between friends!

There’s gonna be a time when you and one of your friends have a crush on the same guy. Don’t let the boy get in between friendships… boys don’t last that long but friendships last forever! I know from experience that if you let a boy between a friendship, you may lose that friend! If you want to keep that friend, choose fries before guys! (sorry, had to put that in ;D)

Don’t get too overwhelmed!

Things at a time can get a little overwhelming. From keeping grades up to having a social life, to participating in after school activities. Some even add a part time job to the mix. Staying busy is always a good thing because it keeps you out of trouble, but if it starts getting to the point that you can’t concentrate on school work or be taking care of yourself then maybe it is time to cut back on things. If you are in multiple extracurricular activities, which activity do you enjoy the most? If you cut back on activities you don’t enjoy as much you can concentrate on becoming better at the one you do enjoy the most. Plus that gives you more time to rest or have that social life you want, and keep your grades up as well!

Conclusion

Well, that’s all of the tips! In all honesty, the most important tip for going back to school is to work hard but don’t forget to have fun along the way. I hope you enjoyed this blog post; I always have fun with these types of posts and it lets me have time to forget about all the stresses and troubles of life.

Before I go I just wanted to thank every single one of you for being so patient with me this past month. I can’t promise that I’m going to be back to my schedule right away but what I can promise is that I love blogging and even if I take long breaks, I will never stop writing and never stop chasing after my dreams.

If you are new around here, did you know that I also have social media?! If you want to know what I do in my daily life or find another way to connect with me you can reach me on other platforms as well!

Getting Back into Adobe Illustrator!// Motivational Quotes and Why I Love Graphic Design!

Happy Sunday/Monday and welcome to another better late than never blog post! This past week I was talking with a few people and it made me realize a few things. First I was talking with one of my best friends (she’s pretty much another sister) and after our talk with her I realized (a lot of things…won’t get into all the details) one of the reasons why I wanted to be a graphic designer was because I enjoyed making digital illustrations and hand lettering… or I guess messing around with fonts and pictures in my case. Then I was talking to a co-worker I also realized after listening to his major project he is currently working on and his goals I wanted to get into my big secret project that I stopped working on months ago (maybe one day when it’s finally happening I’ll talk all about why I stopped for a while)! I guess I’ve gotten so used to just getting on my computer, and only opening Adobe Illustrator just to make a “picture” for social media when I have new blog posts I kinda just forgot about why I loved graphic design and Adobe Illustrator to begin with!

All in all after lots of talking about dreams and life and realizing a bunch of things, what better than to have a blog post with some stuff I’ve been working on in the past couple days. I’ve been really loving on Pinterest those Tumblr like motivational quotes in a bulky font in front of a flower picture so watch out… you’ll notice a theme.

These quotes have been very helpful to me these past couple of weeks, they help me get motivated and stay in a good mind space so for anyone who is feeling down or need a little motivation, hopefully these quotes can help you like they helped me! So let’s get to the quotes!

When You Find Something You Are Passionate About…

If You Are Getting Impatient Just Remember…

It’s going to happen.. Just keep working at it :).

Don’t Over Do Things…Take…

Small Steps are still steps… You are still getting somewhere.

Whatever You are Doing…

Because self happiness and self confidence is way better than impressing someone.

Whatever Your Passion Is…

…you or your work with others. Everyone is at a different stepping stage… use them as motivation and inspiration instead of way to get down on yourself.

When Someone Tells You That You Can’t Tell Them…

Because you can.

Something to Ponder on…

This one hit me hard…

And Finally… For all the Strong Women out there…

Let’s empower each other and motivate each other to be the best we can be!

Conclusion

So that’s all of them.. Or at least the ones I had time to do (trust me there are way more I wanted to do)! These photos (as much as I wanted to be the one who took them) were found on Pinterest but I did edit a couple with Adobe Illustrator to make them more interesting to the eye. I really enjoyed getting back into making these kinds of doodles and I hope at least one of these quotes helped you if you were feeling a little down or needed any motivation.

If the Sailor Scouts went to Hogwarts?!

Happy Tuesday/Wednesday and welcome to another blog post! I honestly really don’t know how I got the idea for this post but I honestly just wanted to do a fun post after doing two very long (and awesome) posts and my tired brain got to thinking what if the Sailor Scouts went to Hogwarts? And if they did, what house would they be in? So if you are like me and are wondering what the answers these are you came to the right place, so let’s get right into it!

Side note I am only doing the Sailor Scouts (Inner and Outer Sensi… so yes for all you Neptune and Uranus lovers) but that’s it. I would love to do all the characters but that would just take too long, and I need to take a break from these long posts (my fingers hurt!)

Usagi Tsukino aka Sailor Moon

So out of all of them would you believe that Usagi was the hardest out of all of them to put in a house? She’s kind of a blonde so she isn’t a Ravenclaw and she’s not as resourceful and cunning like a Slytherin so that leaves it left with Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. After thinking about it for a while I finally decided on Usagi being a Gryffindor with her bravery and chivalry. So Congrats Sailor Moon, you are house Gryffindor!

Ami Mizuno aka Sailor Mercury

Complete opposite from Usagi I knew right away that Ami would be put in house Ravenclaw. In class Ami would always to be the first to answer questions and spend her breaks reading books about wizard history, potions and spells. Ami would definitely be the smartest witch of her time I would say! Congrats Sailor Mercury, you are house Ravenclaw!

Makoto Kino aka Sailor Jupiter

With her strong ambition and good use of resourcefulness Makoto would be in house Slytherin, and not because she is evil like some classmates may think she is, because she is absolutely not! House Slytherin should be happy to have Makoto’s awesome cooking skills, there’s always a cooking party in Slytherin! Congrats Sailor Jupiter, you are house Slytherin!

Rei Hino aka Sailor Mars

Rei was easy to sort in a house and that is house Gryffindor. She is very brave and out of everything she has a lot of nerve… especially when it comes to bugging Usagi! But her bravery triumphs over everything and that has earned her in house Gryffindor. So congrats Sailor Mars, you are house Gryffindor!

Minako Aino aka Sailor Venus

I know I had a special spot in my heart for Minako when I was watching Sailor Moon because just like me, Minako is house Hufflepuff! **GO TEAM HUFFLEPUFF!!** She’s very loyal, patient and yellow is just her color! (I’ve kind of noticed that with a lot of the scouts…hmmm) Maybe with Minako’s skills, Hufflepuff will finally win a Quidditch World Cup? Maybe? Congrats Sailor Venus, you are house Hufflepuff!

Chibiusa Tsukino aka Sailor Chibi Moon

So just like her mother, when Chibiusa grows up she would of course be in house Gryffindor! At such a young age she has already shown bravery and chivalry in and out of being a sailor scout and that has definitely given her a spot in Gryffindor. So congrats Sailor Mini Moon you are house Gryffindor!

And now time for the Outer Senshi!

Michiru Kaioh aka Sailor Neptune

So as much as I wanted to put Michiru in house Hufflepuff (for her loyalty and dedication to a certain other scout) but her intelligence and knowledge has put her in house Ravenclaw! She may not be as smart as Ami but her love for the violin and wit has landed her a spot in Ravenclaw! Congrats Sailor Neptune, you are house Ravenclaw!

Haruka Tenoh aka Sailor Uranus

Who would I be if I didn’t put Haruka in house Slytherin?! His cunning personality and ambition in fights has landed him/her a spot in house Slytherin! Also, can we picture Haruka in a Slytherin uniform?! I would not mind seeing that. So congrats Sailor Uranus, you are house Slytherin!

Setsuna Meiou aka Sailor Pluto

Because of her loyalty to Chibiusa and the Royal Kingdom, Setsuna is joining house Hufflepuff! **GO TEAM HUFFLEPUFF!** I can never get over how loyal she is and is so good towards the Royal family, they know they are safe with Sailor Pluto around! So congrats Sailor Pluto, you are house Hufflepuff!

Hotaru Tomoe aka Sailor Saturn

And last but not least, we have Hotaru! Now she is a hard one to decide but I think that she would be in house Slytherin, and not because she was evil for a little bit. She is very cunning even at such a young age and is a very powerful girl, she would be a very powerful witch. So congrats Sailor Saturn, you are house Slytherin!

BONUS!! Mamoru Chiba aka Tuxedo Mask

So of course I couldn’t do the Sailor Scouts without doing the main man Mamoru! As much I would love love love to put Mamoru with Team Hufflepuff because of his loyalty and patience (and with Usagi, you need patience) I have to put him in Gryffindor for his bravery! That man is so brave, he always puts a brave foot in every battle, because do you know how many times he has saved Usagi without even thinking about it?! So congrats Tuxedo Mask, you are Gryffindor!

Conclusion

So that’s it! What do you guys think? Do you think I sorted them in the right houses? Let me know what you guys think in the comments below! This idea was the result of a tired brain but in all honesty I had so much fun doing it! If you want me to do other Sailor Moon characters or any other animes (I have a few shows in mind) just let me know in the comments below as well as any other ideas for posts! I hope you guys enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed making it and I will see you guys on the next post!

My Hair Evolution!

Happy Sunday/Monday and welcome to another blog post! Since I’m always wanting to let you guys get to know me, I thought what better whan than doing that than showing some cringe worthy photos of me. That’s right, I’m talking about my Hair Evolution throughout the years. I’m always telling people about a certain hairstyle and digging through my Instagram and Facebook to prove to them it actually happened so might as well just go through it all today! Now normally when people do Hair Evolution posts or videos they show off all the different color they’ve had but I didn’t really start coloring my hair crazy colors until last month so mine is mostly filled with… oh why tell you now and let’s just get into it!

My Natural Hair

Look at my baby face! This photo is from July 2007 and this is my natural hair. For as long as I could remember I always had longish brown curly hair with the occasion of trimming it every once in awhile. Around this time I just got into straightening my hair (I remember spending a long time in the morning doing it because it was so long and thick) I hated my curls so much back then so those rare occasions when I actually let my hair be naturally curly (and didn’t curl it…even though I had naturally curly hair??) I still had to at least straighten my “bangs” because I hated how much it looked.

August 2011

So I kept it like that for pretty much my middle school and high school days. I straightened and curled it a lot and the shortest I would ever let it get was to my shoulders. But I just graduated high school and had the new me kind of attitude. Plus this was the time that my favorite actress Emma Watson had cut her hair in a pixie cut and I wanted to be just like her but when I went to get it done I got scared and couldn’t go full pixie. I didn’t mind the cut, It was very hard to manage though with my curls (It was almost a fro) so yes by cutting it killed all the dead ends from heat but I was still straightening my hair every day.

July 2012 First Hair Dying Experience

So in the summer of 2012 I decided that it was finally time to do something different. Before this the most dyeing I’ve done with my hair is a few blonde highlights here and there but not fully dyeing all of it. But I was like what the heck I’m an adult (I was about to turn 19)! I originally wanted to go all black but since it was my first time I was too scared I wouldn’t like it, so I was suggested by my older sister to start with dark brown to see if I like my hair that dark and then maybe go black. It wasn’t a big change compared to my normal brown hair but I enjoyed it and rocked it! It was a great first experience for me and as you can see down the line it wasn’t my last time!

October 2012

So I rocked the dark brown look for a few months, and in October of 2012 I finally got the confidence to go full black. And according to this photo I had enough confidence to try bangs (for the first time… this becomes a reoccurring thing). Now the hard thing with having bangs for me is the fact that I have crazy curly hair and I’m lazy (things haven’t really changed). If I don’t style my bangs they curl up and becomes a poof. If I style my bangs but don’t style my hair it looks like the early hair styles of Hermione Granger. But the days where I wasn’t lazy and actually took the time to style my hair (as much as I could back in the day) I really liked having full bangs.

April 2013

In time I started to get sick of the black and was really missing my brown hair so I let it fade and grow into the closest I would ever get to my once brown hair. The laziness completely took over because I was growing out my bangs as well as my hair. I actually really liked my hair like this, especially the length (I’ve always like myself with long hair more). With the exception of styling my bangs, I actually let my natural curls flow and it was actually pretty cute. Also just a side note, I apparently still had no idea that you can put makeup in your eyebrows.

December 2013

But of course yet again I was bored with just keeping my hair the same so I cut it shoulder length (and miss the length right after) and dye my hair red. Now of course with all the experience I had with dyeing my hair I didn’t think that with the base being brown you wouldn’t be able to have red hair so my hair ended up being more of a maroonish purplish color. I didn’t really mind the maroon hair but it wasn’t what I was wanting.. But I still rocked it! Also, still didn’t know you could have makeup in your brows.

February 2014

The maroon is still pretty much there (I learned that black and red are the two hardest colors to get out of your hair.. Even when you dye it back brown) but spontaneously I decided to try bangs once more! I am impressed with how well they turned out (I usually cut them myself) as well as how much my makeup skills (this is the time I really started getting into makeup) and yet, I still didn’t put makeup on my brows. Guess it didn’t matter much cause I had bangs to cover them up!

May 2014-January 2015 The Game Changer

So of course I got lazy with the bangs and let my hair grow out but I still found myself wanting to do something with my hair. I didn’t want to cut it because I finally got my hair the length I wanted (oh don’t worry… that’s going to change really soon) and I knew that I didn’t wanna go back to black or red so the only color left that was “natural” (Starbucks back then didn’t allow crazy colors as much as I wanted to have crazy colors) blonde. And with the blonde ombre trend going I thought I would hop on the band wagon and try it out. So I went to target, got a kit by Lo’real I think and with the help of my older sister I bleached my tips. I honestly thought it wasn’t going to work (I remember being rushed cause I had to go to work) but once I got out of the shower and saw the blonde I was so in love! I couldn’t believe it actually worked (especially because it came from a box) and the more and more I looked at it the more I fell in love with it. I also noticed that with the blonde in my hair I had this new found confidence in myself, I can’t really explain the confidence I had but I know it was there. Putting blonde in my hair was a huge game changer for me… I even got rid of it for like a month and missed it and the confidence that came with it so I put it back then… until the next hairstyle…

May 2015

It must have been a trend where everyone around me was having a pixie cut (Emma Watson’s hair had grown out way from her pixie cut) because even though I loved the blonde hair and I loved the length my hair was I suddenly really wanted to try for a pixie cut again. But once more when I got to the hair salon I chickened out and this was the result. I was a little nervous because It was literally an hour before work when I got my hair done and I had no time to style it because I had to work, but I was pleasantly surprised with how my natural curls took the haircut (aka it wasn’t an afro). Plus it seemed like my co-workers liked it (or at least they were surprised which that was my goal!) so if anything just the excitement of doing it on the limb was fun enough!

June 2015

So finally after a few weeks I decided to just do it and I got hair cut to a pixie! It was also just in time for the Marianas Trench concert that I’ve been so excited for, I thought that what a good time to get my hair cut than for this concert! After years of wanting to do it but chickening out right at the end I finally just did it and I actually really liked it! The curls took it fine and went great with the hat and outfit for the concert!

June 2015 continued

I actually liked it so much that a few short weeks later I took the pixie cut to the next level and shaved half my hair! (with the help of my older sister of course) The main reason why I decided to shave half my hair is because of my curls. With the normal pixie cut there were times when my hair would dry and just poof out. So by cutting it it stays more flat and I just have to worry about styling only half of my hair, and it works out with the lazy part of me which is a plus!

August 2015-December 2015

It didn’t take long until I started to feel insecure with my hair after getting the pixie cut. So through these next couple months since I knew it would take a while to grow (as much as I wished it would grow fast) I wore lots of hats (especially one certain black knit hat when it got cold) to hide my insecurities. As it slowly started to grow I noticed and joked around with friends and family that my hair was going through the “Bieber” look. But it was growing, and that’s all that mattered to me.

March 2016

After a few months of it growing and remembering the confidence I used to have I decided around spring break to get my hair colored to help with the insecurity I had with my hair. I worked with a few girls who went to school at Aveda so I set up an appointment with her and was excited and nervous for the change. Must be something about just having blonde in my hair but after it was done and I walking out of the salon I felt so happy and confident again with my hair. Few days later I went back in and got an undercut by one of her fellow peers. It was a great idea to get the undercut because not only does it bring more air to the back of my head but it keeps the back of my hair from poofing the more it grows. So Maddie if you are reading this thank you so much again for giving me confidence again and helping me like my hair again.

July 2016: Hair Growth

Around this time it has been a year and a month since I got a pixie cut and then shaved half my hair. It may not seem like it’s grown a lot, but thinking about it, even just from March to July it has noticeably grown! Even though it has faded, I still loved the blonde that was still in my hair and it even looked great with my natural curls!

I do have to add that even though I missed my hair long and felt insecure with my short hair I don’t regret getting my hair in a pixie cut. I wanted to do it for a long long time and I’m glad that I did it and now know how I look with it. So for future reference if I had the desire to do it again I know what to expect from it… but I don’t think that’s going to happen for a long time.

August 2016: Silver Fox

So with my hair starting to grow more the more it was time to change my hair again (don’t worry, no more cutting it). I was going through some rough times mentally so I went to Maddie again and with her magic we created the Silver Fox! I loved loved loved this color and even now I still miss it (so hey, maybe one day you will see the Silver Fox again) and is always impressed with her skills. I was too nervous to dye my hair silver (wasn’t sure how it would turn out) so Maddie had the idea to just do the silver when we went to tone it. I love the silver because it had some tints of teal which gave the silver more dimension.

September 2016

As much as I loved being the “Silver Fox” it lasted for about 2 weeks because it was just a toner. But I loved the blonde in my hair (Thank You Maddie once again!) I was originally going to go back to the Silver Fox but I loved the blonde was, I wasn’t ready to give up the blonde yet! Plus let’s be honest… hair appointments are expensive :(((!

January 2017

So keeping the blonde I just let my hair do it’s thing and grow! I let my hair air dry (with a little help of hair mousse to keep it from poofing) and cut back on styling it as much to keep it healthy (and cause I’m lazy). But every so often when I did want to mix it up I would straighten my hair just to see how long it has grown.

To be honest I am shocked with how well my hair evened out itself when it was growing out. And even though I didn’t think so, every time I would talk to a friend or run into an old friend they would say how fast my hair has grown when I tell them I had a pixie cut 2 years ago. Looking back at it all now I can say they were right and I was just impatient.

May 2017

So as you guys know, I got bored with my hair and I can’t right now afford what I really want to do with I thought why not and went on a whim and had some fun with my hair until I can afford a salon appointment (now that work allows “unnatural” hair colors in the new dress code)! I really enjoyed having pink hair and would I do it again… most likely.

Today

The sad thing about the pink is that it didn’t last as long (you would know if you read my blog post all about it, you should go check it out if you haven’t) so instead of doing pink again I thought that this time around I would do teal! And on top of it all I once again I convinced myself that I won’t be lazy and will take care of them and gave myself bangs… I blame Pinterest.

I really do enjoy doing these crazy colors I’ve been doing, it is fun way to express myself without doing something as drastic as cutting my hair (the dye is semi-permanent) but still satisfies my need for change and gives my life more of a pop of color. I would like to someday try out more colors but I don’t know what is in store for my hair or style. I still really want to do what I’ve originally want to do with my hair so we shall see how soon I will be able to do that! Until then who wants to bet on how long I’m going to keep the bangs again? Third time’s the charm maybe??

Conclusion

So that’s it! That is all the hairstyles I have had! It was fun (with a few cases of cringe) to go through all the pictures (via Facebook or Instagram) and to go back on memory lane. What is the craziest hairstyle or color you rocked? Also if you liked this type of post let me know what other type of posts you would like me to do in the comments below! It’s Already Over?!// My Thoughts on Attack on Titan Season 2! (SPOILERS!)

Happy Sunday and welcome to another blog post! Last week, sadly the last episode of “Attack on Titan Season 2” aired and I am left emotionless. Even though I knew ahead of time when “Attack on Titan Season 2” was first released that there was only going to be 12 episodes, I couldn’t help getting into each and every single one of them and wanting more. So since it is last the episode of the season, and we don’t know how long it will be until Season 3 (said to be released next year.. we shall see) let’s talk about it! There is a major spoiler alert for this blog post, so if you haven’t seen “Attack on Titan Season 2” and are planning on watching it, this blog post is not the post for you! But if you are caught up on Season 2, or you don’t care about it and would like to know my opinions, keep on reading! That being said I have lots to say so let’s just get right into it!

Opening Theme

First of course since we all know how I love a good opening theme song, let’s talk about the Season 2 opening animation and song. If you read my blog post “My Favorite Anime Openings” you already know that the opening animation for “Attack on Titan Season 1” is my top favorite. It gives me chill right at the beginning of the song and gets me pumped for the episode. I am happy to say that the opening lives up to the first one and is just as great. The song is just as intense (which goes great with how intense the show is) as the first opening and even though it doesn’t give you chills right away like the first opening does, it definitely gives you chills during it.
And that ending animation where everything just goes crazy…. If you aren’t pumped up for the episode after just watching the opening animation, I don’t know what will get you pumped up. I also love how they keep the same artist for the opening song as well. All around I have no complaints for the opening credits and I am pleased with how it turned out. I know that every time I listen to it just like the first opening, no how many times I watch it in a row, I will always get goose bumps!

If you want to watch the opening sequence you can click here to watch it:

The Story

Now that we’re pumped to watch the show from the awesome opening credits, let’s talk about the story. Even though there were only 12 episodes it doesn’t feel like it because each and every single episode is jam packed! Even that one episode where all that was happening was talking (if you’ve seen the season, you know what episode I’m talking about) was jam packed with story with the way the characters were talking to each other.
The season premiere was no exception. Right from the start they drop the bomb that Titans are inside of the walls and then introduces us to the Beast Titan, a Titan unlike any other one we’ve seen before (he looks like a hairy oversized monkey with abs…kinda).

After that without any warning the season dropped more and more things on us from left to right. There is an attack (which seemed to be controlled by the Beast Titan…Titans can control other Titans what?!) and some of Eren’s comrades are trapped in a tower unarmed surrounded by titans.

Then another bomb is dropped when we find out that not only is Ymir a Titan, but then suddenly Reiner tells Eren that he is the Armored Titan and that Bertholdt is the Colossal Titan. Not only that, but Reiner and Eren kidnap Eren and the injured Ymir and run away from the wall, headed to their “hometown”! And that’s only half way through the season! Thankfully those were the only massive bombs on us (my heart would have probably exploded if they dropped another one on us) and the rest of the season was the escape plan being pursued to save Eren and Ymir (let’s be honest.. Mostly just Eren).

I honestly forgot how intense the show was until finishing the season premiere. But now that I have seen the twelfth episode, I am craving more. I love the story because not only does it keep me at the edge of my seat and leaves me wanting more, but I get to see more a background of the characters. Season 1 was mostly revolved around Eren, Mikasa and Armin, but in this season we get to see more of the other comrades’ stories.

Moments of Confusion

In this season, we may have learned a lot about Titans, but we are also left questioning about a few things, especially when it came to Reiner’s and Bertholdt’s plan for Eren. I know that’s the point of why the people behind “Attack on Titan” did it, to get viewers wondering and wanting more, but at times when Reiner and Bertholdt was talking to each other while trying to escape with Eren and Ymir (before she had her flashback and changed their plans), the things they were saying just seemed a bit confusing to me. They of course know what they have in store for Eren but as an audience member looking into the story we are left confused (unless you’ve read the manga). All we know is that Eren has some kind of power (that is he not aware of) that the Titans know about and want. So Reiner’s and Bertholdt’s mission is handing over Eren to a higher titan… but that’s what I’m guessing.

They also were talking about getting Christa and Annie to their hometown as well, Annie being a comrade of Reiner and Bertholdt and Christa being an important member of the church (I will get into that more soon). It seems though that Reiner makes it seem that capturing and taking Christa is just as important of getting Eren to the “hometown”, and it is so important for Ymir to see Christa again that she’s willing to jeopardize their plan of escaping to go back and capture her right then. It even got to the point where they were saying how they wanted to save Christa from the dangers inside the wall… which confuses me as well to a point but it will probably be answered when I know more about the Titan/human relationship.

The show is already is high paced and intense, so when stuff like this happens and words are being said that confuses me and before I can stop and think “What did they say?” or “What’s going on?” they already moved on to something else, or something big happens you just have no idea what to think anymore.

I watched season 2 on Crunchyroll and reading the comments most people are saying things like “Read the manga.” or “It’s funny how people who haven’t read the manga say they aren’t giving too much information and people who have read the manga say they’re giving too much information. (about the human/titan relationship)” and while yes I could read the manga, and yes I would love to read the manga one day (I may actually read it to fill the emptiness inside me now that Season 2 is over) that moment of watching a new episode not knowing what is going to happen excites me, especially with how intense and fast this show goes. When I do decide to read the manga, I am excited to learn a lot of things character and story wise as well as get some answers to the Titan/human relationship. But until then if I have questions, I already plan on rewatching the season and series and multiple times. Everytime I watch it, I hope to catch more and more bits of information I didn’t before. And if I’m still confused, I can always research it as well!

Historia the Bad-Ass!

So like I said in the last point, one of the people Reiner and Bertholdt needed to capture was Christa because of her importance to the church (plus we all know Reiner has a huge crush on her too). I was a little curious on why Christa was important to the plan and after seeing Ymir’s background it sparked my curiosity more so I did some research and found out some spoilers and background about her that makes it all (well not all, there’s still so much that confuses me) make sense.

During the first couple of episodes of season 2, the Survey Corps is revealed that Christa may know about the walls having Titans inside them because of her family background and that Christa really isn’t the girl Eren and the gang got to know during the Training Corps. In reality she is actually Historia Reiss, a girl who has been hiding her and her family’s true identity until she joined the Survey Corps and got to know Ymir.

The thing that makes Historia such a bad-ass in my opinion is the growth in this season. In Season 1, Christa was scared and was living a life treating people a certain way to make it seem like she was a good person. But in Season 2 with the help of Ymir and certain events, Christa has accepted her true identity and who she is as a person. She has found the courage to make her first Titan kill ever and to live for herself. To become what her true name means, to become in her own way a GODDESS. And that in my opinion makes her pretty bad-ass (and someone I want to cosplay one day). I can’t wait to see what else Historia can do in seasons to come.

Lack of Levi

So speaking of bad-ass people, was anyone else sad with the lack of Levi in this season?! I mean Levi was still in the season and still played an important role, but not as much as he was in the first season. I know he was on the sidelines because of an injury and in the first couple of episodes he plays a big role in getting Minister Nick to fess up about important information but other than that, he wasn’t in it till the very end. And speaking of the very end, can I say I got emotional with Levi’s reaction to the maybe truth about Titans and Erwin’s reaction?! Oh man. Plus doing a little research about Levi I found that Attack on Titan did a OVA about Levi’s background?! It’s called “Attack on Titan OVA No Regrets”!!

The Season Finale

So of course since we are talking about Season 2, I have to talk about the finale because OH MY GOODNESS THAT SEASON FINALE!! (if you didn’t have enough spoilers already… this part is just packed with them…you have been warned).

The episode begins with Eren and Mikasa (somehow he managed to get away from Reiner and Bertholdt) and is faced in front of the smiling Titan that killed Eren’s mother years ago. Mikasa tries to attack the Titan but due to injuries she can’t and Eren is in no shape to fight (look at those stubby fingers!) so Hannes bravely goes for the attack. He fought well but soon enough the smiling Titan captured him and started to move him closer to it’s mouth. Seeing his dear friend in danger caused Eren to want to transform to his Titan form, even though his body wasn’t ready for it. But alas no matter how many times Eren took a bite in his stubby hands, he couldn’t transform and like so many years ago, Eren helplessly watched a loved one get eaten by the same smiling Titan.

In rage Eren cries and laughs to the messed up world (literally all his comrades and friends are fighting against Titans) around him yelling how nothing has changed and that in all the years of training and becoming better, he still isn’t strong enough to make an impact on anything. Mikasa then tells him that Eren is wrong and that he has always been there by Mikasa’s side. Time is at a stop as Mikasa tells Eren how much of an impact he has made on her and almost kisses him but is stopped when Eren moves and stands up facing the Titan. He tells Mikasa that he will always and forever be there to wrap the red scarf around her neck and then with a punch, Eren somehow controls the surrounding Titans to attack and eat the smiling Titan?! The Survey Corps take this opportunity to retreat and escape. While fleeing, Ymir (still in Titan form) sees a future for Historia in behind the walls now that she sees what Eren is truly capable of even though Eren is nowhere near aware of his new power. Then we hear the word “Coordinate” for the first time from Reiner who seems very unhappy with the fact that Eren has this power and then suddenly through Eren’s rage he directs (without him unaware of it of course) the Titans to attack Reiner as they make their escape. Ymir then decides that she is turning herself into Reiner and Bertholdt parting from Historia (I wonder what her true motives are…). The Survey Corps make their escape with no more casualties… and that was just the first half of the episode!

A short time has passed and Commander Hange and Conny come in with some disturbing news… that in theory (they don’t have full proof) the true identities of Titans are actually humans. This news leaves Commander Levi and Commander Pyxis shocked but Commander Erwin is smiling at the fact that he has taken a step in learning more about the origins of Titans which makes Levi almost sick and more disturbed (aka what I said before about Levi in the last section). Meanwhile Armin tells Eren about his theory on why he thinks the Titans attacked the smiling Titan and then Reiner without harming any humans and though it may be a burden and hard for Eren, he steps up to the position to help pay for all the lives that were taken for his sake. The episode ends with the appearance of the Beast Titan and a new character we haven’t seen before and then left there to wonder what is going to be in store next for Eren and the gang. All in all I was on the edge of my seat the whole episode.

To say what I feel like about this finale in one emotion is nearly impossible because I felt so many emotions after watching it, I still feel them even know a week later after watching it.

What Next?

So there you go, my long review and thoughts of season 2! All together after everything I just said, I can honestly say that other than just a few minor things (mostly the lack of Levi) this season is just as wonderful as Season 1 plus more. In this season not only did we get to learn more about the Titan/human relationship but we really got to know more about the characters. Like I said before, the first season we really got to know Eren and his friends. But for the other characters, we only got a glance and we didn’t get to know about who they are and why they joined the Training Corps. So seeing the character development in this new season really makes the other characters more likable and relatable.

Each week it was exciting to sit down and get sucked into each episode. Then after finishing each episode, it gave me a sense of excitement for the next episode because I spent the week thinking over the episode and wondering what’s going to happen next. So in that aspect I am really going to miss this anime until the next season (which will hopefully won’t be too long of a wait) because it gave me something to look forwards to each week.

Now that it is over, I do feel sad and empty but at the same time I have this fire inside of me to know more, especially with some of the confusion I had before. And just because there isn’t a new episode to watch every week, doesn’t mean there aren’t other things I can preoccupy myself with in the Attack on Titan world. There is always the manga to read to help clear up some confusion. After reading that if I am somehow still confused, I can always look it up thanks to the wonderful thing we have called the internet! Also, not only is there that background story on Levi (which we all know I am excited to watch) but I just found out that there is an “Attack on Titan: Junior High” series I didn’t know about! I was watching some clips and I was laughing so hard because just seeing the characters in a not so intense atmosphere and as little chibi characters is both strange and adorable all in one! Plus on top of that, I do plan on rewatching the season and binge watching the whole series again multiple times, so I think I will be ok!

Conclusion

I really hope (if you stuck for this far) you enjoyed this post! I really love this anime, so of course when I went to sit down and talk about it, I had a lot to talk about so I do apologize for how long it took for me to get this post out. What did you think of “Attack on Titan Season 2”? Were there any points I missed talking about or did you just miss Levi as much as I did in this season? Have you watched either “Attack on Titan: Junior High” or “Attack on Titan OVA No Regrets”? Knowing me, after watching them I will probably do a review on those on here so that’s something to look forwards to as well! If you have any ideas for blog posts in the Attack on Titan world, anime or just anything in general as always let me know in the comments below! I’ve also noticed that on here there isn’t a way to update you guys on announcements or when a blog post is going to be late, so I am here to let you know that if you want to get announcements or just wanna know the weird stuff I do in my life, I have social media! If you want to follow me, I have an Instagram account @doodles.by.kat and I also have a Facebook page! Just type @doodles.by.kat or @katarinastarkinfo! Other than all of that, I hope you all have a great week and I will see you guys hopefully on Tuesday or Wednesday!

My Spring/Summer Purse//What’s In My Bag??

Happy Tuesday/Wednesday and welcome to another blog post! I’ve wanted to do this post for a while and since we are in the beginning of summer (it’s already so hot here already) I thought it would be a great time to let you know what’s in my Spring/Summer Purse! Now I will be honest, a bunch of stuff in my purse you have already seen in other blog posts, but hey I love these items so much! So let’s get right into!

The Purse

First let’s talk about the purse. The purse is a mini backpack from Forever 21. The reason why I wanted a mini backpack this time around is because the cross body purse I was using before was starting to hurt my shoulder from the weight of carrying all the stuff on one shoulder. So I thought “Why don’t I just even out the pain from just one shoulder to both shoulders?!”. I knew what I was looking for, I wanted to shy away from the usual black or grey purses I normally get and get a pastel pink mini backpack. When I went in to my nearest Forever 21 they had the style of mini backpacks I wanted but not in pastel pink. So I ordered it online and in a few days top it was in my hands. I was nervous since I was ordering it online that it wouldn’t fit all my stuff but I am happy and relieved to say that it all fit! I love how it is very lightweight (even with all my stuff in it) and it is perfect for carrying a lot or a little during the spring and summertime. I’ve had it for about 2 months now and it is still in good shape, so I hope it lasts a while!

The Pin that Started it All

I knew that I wanted a new purse right when I started to get really sick of feeling pain in my shoulder, but I didn’t know what purse I wanted. Then I was shopping at Hot Topic and I found this Sailor Moon Transformation Brooch pin and I knew right then and there that I needed a pastel pink mini backpack to put this pin on. Now I did have a hard time getting this pin on (with the fake leather and loose pin back) to the point that I almost gave up on it, but I’m glad that I didn’t because it turned out so well! I always get compliments on it and asked if it is a sailor moon purse (like if the pin came with the purse) but nope… I put it together myself and I am so proud of it!

Sailor Moon Keychain

Since I was going with a Sailor Moon themed purse I wanted a keychain that would go with it so when I found the brand Sugarbones on Instagram I knew they would be perfect. Sugarbones is an artist/designer based in Canada who creates pins, patches and art prints of things that supports girl power, fighting crime and the forces of evil while looking completely kawaii :)… and Sailor Moon is one of those things. You will definately see more of Sugar Bone on my website/social media, I love what she does and I can’t wait to see what else she creates! She recently designed two Sailor Moon inspired keychain souvenirs, one from Crystal Tokyo (which is a beautiful pastel blue with pastel pink roses around it) or the Negaverse (aka Dark Kingdom) that is a beautiful purplish maroonish color with red roses around it. I was originally going to get the Crystal Tokyo keychain because of the matching pastel colors, but the dark/black loving half of me has always connected with the Dark Kingdom, so I chose that one. With this keychain dangling, if you can’t find me, just listen for a jingle from this keychain and you’ll find me!

Car Keys… aka more Sailor Moon Keychains

First let’s start with what is in my front little pocket. Now you don’t need to see my car keys because you know what car keys look like, but you haven’t seen the keychains that are on them! Now I had these keychains long before I had the idea for the Sailor Moon mini backpack but it’s kind of cool how it all turned out like it.

The first two has an old keychain and a new keychain. The Luna cupcake is from a dear friend who saw it while shopping and thought of me, which was so sweet of her, so thank you Tina! The bow with the little moon stick is pretty new, I found it at Barnes and Noble when I was shopping with one of my dear friends.

The last two are my two favorite keychains (not saying I don’t love the other two). The moon stick is my oldest keychain (as you can tell with how dirty and old it is), it is actually one of the first ever sailor moon items I’ve ever had. The other keychain is from of my bestest friends ever. Last year around this time her and her family went to the zoo in which even though I was invited I couldn’t go. So she surprised me with this keychain with an adorable elephant on it! Now that I have become a shift supervisor and don’t work at the same store anymore I cherish the keychain even more. Sailor Moon keychains may come and go but I will always keep and cherish this item of friendship.

Cosmic Heart Compact Mirror

If you haven’t noticed yet, but I love shopping at Hot Topic. They have a bunch of great anime items, band tees, and some unexpected great finds, this item is one of those great finds. I have been meaning to try to find a compact mirror because I am sick of pulling out my phone camera when reapplying lipstick. It just so happened that it was a Sailor Moon one that I found! And before anyone asks, unfortunately no the heart on the inside doesn’t do anything when you push it. Believe me I’ve tried, millions of times.

Chapstick and Lipstick of Choice

I also carry around my favorite chapstick and the lipstick I wore the day before. My go to chapstick is “Nivea Smoothness Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen Lip Care”. It is getting hotter by the day and the last thing I want is to have sun burnt lips (especially when I wear liquid matte lipstick quite often) so this chapstick keeps my lips feeling moisturized and protected from the sun. The lipstick is “LimeCrime Bloodmoon Liquid Matte Velvetine”. This is currently my favorite color. It gives me a dark red matte lip that makes my outfit from normal to dark and sexy.

The funny thing about this now is that I didn’t realize it until I grabbed the coin purse out of my bag that I almost have one of each of Sailor Moon’s transformation brooches. I just need one of Crisis Moon and Eternal Moon than I have all of them!

Now back to more things you haven’t seen yet!

Totoro Wallet

Recently my sister, mom and I went to the CelebrAsian festival downtown to celebrate everything in the Asian culture! Not only was it fun cause I got to have some well needed family time but I got to eat some delicious Filipino food (my mom’s side of the family is Filipino) and check out all things Asian! While we were there I got a really cute Totoro makeup bag and this adorable Totoro wallet! The colors go well with the pastel theme I have going on with my purse, and even though you can’t see it there’s a cute dangly tossle on the side of it. Plus since it folds, it fits so much easier than the big wallet I was using before.

Flamingo Notebook

I found this great notebook at World Market. I got this back in January just in time for the start of my new promotion, so it was great timing on my part. All I use it is for work but I really don’t know what I would do without it. Just having it and writing the list of things I have to do helps me get through the shift.

Glasses Cleaner Kit

Another thing I cannot live without is this glasses cleaner kit from Target. In the kit it comes with a cleaning spray, cleaning cloth and pre-moistened cloths. I love this kit because it is small enough to be on the go but does the job perfectly. My friends who doesn’t wear glasses always tease me when I pull it out of my purse, but the friends who do have glasses always ask me to clean their glasses as well.

Portable Charger

Another strange but useful item I keep in my purse is a portable charger I got from Target. I originally got it for the little day trips I have been having with my family and friends (going to be useful for a small weekend trip I’m planning this summer) but with the shortage of charging cords in my apartment, I’ve been gravitating towards using this more. Plus it’s rose gold so it goes perfect with pretty much everything I have!

Cinnamon Gum

The last but not least is just a pack of gum to hide my coffee breath. There’s not much more to say than that ha.

Conclusion

So that’s it! I hope you enjoyed this “What’s in My Bag?” post. What weird but useful things do you have in your purse? If you have any ideas for a blog post, as always you can comment down below! I also linked somewhere in this post another blog post talking about my pastel pink collection so if you haven’t read that one yet, there’s that link there! I hope you all have a great rest of your week and I will see you on Sunday!
