My Favorite Anime Characters!

Happy Sunday/Monday and welcome to another blog post! Today I wanted to share with you my favorite anime characters! I’ve shared my anime crushes and my anime girl crushes before but I haven’t shared just my favorite characters. Have you ever watched a show and there’s a character (or a few characters) that you just fall in love with? Not in love like towards a husbando or a wifey but you just can’t help but fall in love with for being awesome. So without further ado, here are my favorite anime characters! You will notice that some of the characters come from the same show so I guess that shows how awesome the anime is if there’s a lot of lovable characters.

Ikalgo from Hunter X Hunter

The first character is actually the character that made me want to do this blog post and that character is Ikalgo from Hunter X Hunter. Ikalgo is an octopus like Chimera Ant from the Chimera Ant Arc who used to be a officer but was turned over after having an encounter with one of the main characters Killua (don’t want to say any spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen the series). I love Ikalgo so much because after joining the gang he is so loyal to Killua. Plus he’s the comedic relief in the season as well.

Seiya Kou from Sailor Moon Stars

How could I do an anime blog post and not have a Sailor Moon character in it?! One of my favorite seasons (maybe my favorite season of all time) of Sailor Moon would be the 5th and final season Sailor Stars. One of the reasons why I love this season is because this character. His name is Seiya Kou otherwise known as Sailor Star Fighter. I love him because he is so in love with Usagi and I am all for team Seiya and Usagi. He cares about her so much and would do anything for her and even though I do love Mamoru and Usagi I still would have loved to see Seiya and Usagi together.

Sasha Blouse from Attack on Titan

Now we are at that part where multiple characters come from the same show. And to start off is Sasha Blouse from Attack on Titan. She is a member of the Survey Corpse as well as Eren and the gang but is more of the laid back chilled characters. In season one you knew her as the one who loved food but in Season 2 you get to know more of her as a character which is great. If you have watched Attack on Titan you know how gory, serious and intense the show is so when there is a comic relief you cherish it because then you know the show is going to throw something intense your way. Sasha Blouse is that comic relief.

Hange Zoe from Attack on Titan

Another favorite character from Attack on Titan is squad leader Hange Zoe. I love her so much because she sees the Titans more than just predators. Whenever she gets the slightest chance to learn more about the Titans she jumps right into it with big eyes and excitement. With her influence, the Survey Corpse are not just trying to kill all Titans but learn about them as well.

Abel Nightroad from Trinity Blood

I’ve talked about this show before but if you haven’t read my last anime blog post where I first talked about Trinity Blood I just said that when I was little and first started watching anime I would sneak downstairs to the basement of the house that I grew up in to watch Trinity Blood and other animes because my parents wouldn’t let me stay up to watch it (I worded it wrong in the last post, I said in the other one that my parents wouldn’t let me watch it not because of the anime but because it was too late at night and I should be in bed, so my bad). Now when I was younger I was more into the Magical Girl genre with Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura then the darker let alone any anime about religion so why was I willing to sneak to the basement to watch Trinity Blood? The characters is one of the big reasons why I kept going back for more. One of the characters is the main character Abel Nightroad. Abel has two sides which makes me love him. He has the serious side when he’s on a mission and then at other times he’s a child stuck in an adult’s body, especially when it comes with finding food. Also when a friend is in need of someone Abel listens and is there for his friends. He makes a worthy good main character, worth enough to name my car after.

Ion Fortuna from Trinity Blood

Another character I love from Trinity Blood is Ion Fortuna. Ion is not only a Methuselah (aka a vampire according to humans) but the Earl of Memphis. How Ion’s, Abel’s and Esther Blanchett’s (I talked about her in the last anime blog post) path cross is because Ion was sent from Empress Augusta Vradica as a secret envoy to talk to Cardinal Caterina about taking a step toward peace between vampires and humans. The meeting was interrupted by an attack and then betrayed by his best friend after that Abel and Esther try to get him to Cardinal Caterina. I love Ion because in the few episodes he is you see him grow. Before everything happened Ion hated humans (or Terrans as the Methuselah would call them) who were outside of the Empire but after spending some time with Esther he has matured and have had a change of heart when it comes to Terrans. He even finds himself having feelings for Esther which I am totally down for.

Seth Nightlord from Trinity Blood

My last favorite character from Trinity Blood is Seth Nightlord. You first see Seth as this cute, cheery little town girl selling tea and helping Esther and Ion on there adventure but then she ends up revealing to the gang that she is the true Empress Augusta Vradica of the New Empire who has been in hiding in case of an assassination attempt (which spoiler alert, there was an attempt). We also find out that she is Abel’s youngest sibling (which I should have known, their personalities are similar) and that their older brother is up to no good (don’t want to spoil it). I love her so much because she is such a lovable character and just brings a smile to your face. Also who else loves the name Seth for a girl? I know I do.

Conclusion

So that’s all my favorite characters! I hope you all enjoyed this blog post as much as I did writing it! I just wanted to say before I end this blog post that these are my favorite characters personally and no way in any shape or form by sharing these characters are saying that they should be everyone’s favorite characters or that they are better than other characters, because there are some awesome characters out there in the anime world, I just have a special love for these individual characters for own reasons. Everyone has different opinions on characters and different reasons to love or favorite a certain character, these are just mine that I wanted to share. That being said I would love to hear what are your favorite characters and why you love them in the comments below as well as any ideas for more anime blogs. I hope you guys have a wonderful start of your week and I will see you soon in another blog post!

My Favorite Anime Ending Credits!

Happy Sunday and welcome to finally another blog post! These past couple of weeks have been crazy with my weird work schedule and then I also got sick… but now I feel so much better and ready to get back in the normal groove of things! And what better way to get back into it than do an anime blog post! A little while back I did “My Favorite Anime Openings” and today it is time to show you my favorite anime endings! You know that feeling when you just went through an intense episode and it ends and goes to the credit screen and just all the intensity disappears with the beautiful song and animation that goes with it. These are the anime endings that either gave me that feeling or I loved the song so much that I had to look up the whole song and listen to it on the regular… or even both! With these types of posts, I usually do a countdown but all of these anime ending credits deserve the number one spot so I couldn’t put them in a specific order. With that being said let’s get right into it!

Bleach Ending 2 “Thank You!” by Home Made Kazoku

The first ending is from Bleach. As you know, I used to really love Bleach and this was from one of my favorite seasons. Rukia is taken by the Soul Society and Ichigo and his friends are set off to rescue her. So in the ending credits I feel the song “Thank You!” fits perfectly because it is Rukia’s way of thanking Ichigo for coming to her rescue and being a true friend even though she has accepted her fate and punishment for her crimes. This brings me so many of the nostalgic feels when I hear this because it reminds me of my early anime days. I couldn’t find a video of the actual anime ending credits but here is the song so you can hear the song.

Hunter X Hunter Ending 5

This year I finally got around to watching Hunter X Hunter. If you read my blog post “Let’s Get Chatty// Good Endings and New Beginnings”, you heard some of my thoughts and feelings about the show, but this post isn’t talking about that. Before I got to season 5 I was happy with each of the seasons. The show had little to no filler episodes so each episode was jam packed with a lot of story and character build which I loved. So of course I was excited to get drawn into a new season. But after seeing the first couple of episodes I was drawn away from it because it took a turn on a more creepy level and I wasn’t really ok with one big ant eating humans. I was about to give up on the series all together. Luckily I was encouraged to watch more and I thought since I came this far, I shouldn’t give up on it now. I am so glad I continued to watch it because this season became one of my favorite seasons in the whole show. And to bring it all together there is a wonderful anime ending credits that bring all of the season together. And the song is great as well! I don’t know what it’s called because it is in a different language but I listened to the full version and it is wonderful.

Death Parade Ending “Last Theatre”

The anime that I am currently watching is Death Parade. I was honestly first drawn in because I fell in love with the anime opening credits but really wanted to know who these characters were and what they were up to. I also learned early on that this anime is very depressing (deals with lots of death) so I had to pump myself up to watch this anime. Now that I have started watching, yes it is very sad and very intense, but it is still so good! I’m over halfway through the anime and it’s starting to get into the real intense stuff. Anywho, I was delightedly surprised when the ending credits started to how much I loved it. The intensity in this song matches perfectly to the anime and the main ending animation really does fit the anime itself. Once again, I had to look up the full song because it is so beautiful. If you haven’t seen Death Parade and are wanting a very intense anime (it has already made me cry once) you should watch it, it is so good! I can’t wait to see how the ending is.. So please no spoilers! 🙂

Black Bullet Ending “Tokohana” by Nagi Yanagi

The last anime ending is from the anime Black Bullet. Right at the get go when the ending credits start, I get goosebumps and is immediately drawn into the song and animation. Black Bullet is one of my favorite newer animes and I wish it had a second season, because the ending of the series made me question so much. I loved the story and the character development throughout the series (even though I did question one character in the end…). I love how the credit scene is through the perspective of Enju and I feel that you get a sense of how she feels deep inside with all of her responsibilities and troubles she has to endure. I also have to give credit to the singer Nagi Yanagi, she has an incredible song and you can feel her soul through her lyrics. I love in songs how even though I don’t understand what they are saying because of a language barrier but I can tell what it is about or what the message they are getting through with how the singer performs it. You can feel the way she is feeling as a listener.

Conclusion

So that is all of them! I really do love each and every one of these anime endings. When I need a pick me up, I go to these songs to get me pumped to write or just to feel a little better. I hope you enjoyed this post and still are enjoying these anime posts, because I really love writing them! If you have any ideas for a blog post (anime or not) please let me know in the comments below, I am always up for ideas! I hope I am able to get back in the grove of getting posts out regularly now that I am feeling so much better, so I appreciate all the patience with me! I hope you guys all have a great Memorial weekend, and I will see you on Tuesday!

Let’s Get Chatty// Good Endings and New Beginnings

Happy Sunday/Monday (this was supposed to go up on Sunday… it’s now Tuesday…)and welcome to another better late than never blog post! I haven’t done a “Let’s Get Chatty” post in a hot second so I thought I would sit down and chit chat with you for a little bit.

“Hunter X Hunter”

For the past couple of months, I have been watching the anime show “Hunter X Hunter”. If you don’t know what “Hunter X Hunter” is, it is a show based around the character named Gon, who seeks to become a hunter (which is kind of like a magician, but they are capable of tracking down treasures, rare beasts, and even other individuals) to find his father who left him at a young age. While taking the Hunter Exam, Gon meets and befriends three other hunter applicants and go on many adventures as Gon seeks to find his father. After 6 seasons, tonight we finally finished the series. I was very sad to see it end, but was very pleased with how it ended.

The Ending

Now if you are planning on watching the series or currently watching it, you may want to skip this section, but if you have seen the show or not planning on watching it any time soon I can say (without any major spoilers) that Gon does somehow finally meet his father. Being a viewer who has watched Gon’s journey of finding his father finally come to an end and him having a conversation with his father liked he’s always wanted warms my heart up so much. He went through so much to become a strong enough hunter to be accepted by his father it’s so nice to see them both talking and laughing under the stars (and I mean it quite literally… watch the show you will know :D).

In the ending credits, it shows each of the characters that was shown throughout the series, and it made me think (and if you’ve seen the anime, you will understand and maybe have the same feelings as me) WHERE THE FUCK HAS KURAPIKA BEEN?! In the 5th season, Gon fights his toughest battle yet, and for most of the 6th season he is in the hospital fighting for his life. All of his friends were there trying to find a way to save him, Killua was out risking his life finding a way to save him but Kurapika was not there. Leorio even called him but there was no answer. All it showed was Kurapika sitting in an unknown place (and in a suit?!). Going forward to the ending credits it shows Kurapika in an alley. He’s still sitting, but it reveals him sitting in front of a row of Scarlet eyes aka the eyes of his fallen clan. So that hints that he’s been out collecting the Scarlet eyes since we last saw him. Big whoop, he collected the eyes, YOUR DEAR FRIEND WAS ON HIS DEATHBED!

“But he’s broken from not being able to fully get revenge on the Phantom Troupe.” —aka killing them.

He pretty much defeated the boss by taking away his Nen so I’d say he got his revenge, but who helped him get his revenge? Gon did. Who risked their life in facing them to help? Gon did. Gon was there for Kurapika, but when Gon was fighting for his life and needed his closest friends Kurapika disappears, answering the phone to no one to do what… find and collect the Scarlet eyes. I feel Kurapika is being really selfish with everything. Yes, it is very sad that his clan was slaughtered because Chrollo liked the Scarlet in their eyes and it made a really good season in the show (one of my favorite seasons, maybe even my favorite season) but like I said earlier, Kurapika got his revenge. Wouldn’t after getting revenge make you feel somewhat at ease? Apparently not because he had to collect the eyes. And for what reason? Did he feel like he had to keep them safe? Did he feel like he needed the eyes to be in better hands? So many questions we will never really know the answers to. One answer we will always know is true is that Gon is a living breathing friend, and a really good friend I might say. Gon was completely willing to give up his life (you know what episode I’m talking about) to help his dear friend. If Killua didn’t risk his like to save Gon, he could have died and Kurapika would have never known… he (in my opinion) was just centered around getting the Scarlet eyes. Yes, I know this all may sound mean, but I feel like I’ve lost a little respect for Kurapika since he wasn’t there for Gon when he needed his friends. Other than Kurapika not being there it was awesome to see characters from past seasons show up in the last season due to a reason I won’t spoil.

Would I recommend “Hunter X Hunter”?

Moving away from that little rant I really want to emphasize how much I really do love this show. In season one you see little Gon with a dream. Then he takes the Hunter Exam, meets his friends and his personal dream became a group dream. Throughout the seasons you see Gon and his friends through different experiences grow as not only Hunters but as friends (especially Gon and Killua). Than finally in the final season you see them stronger and ever, and the season ends in a recap with the main theme playing. Which speaking of the music, I love how in the 6 seasons the theme song always remained the same. The animation changed to go with each season but the song always stayed the same. I think that’s why it felt so nostalgic listening to it at the very end. I won’t deny it, I shed a tear.

So if you are looking for a new anime, I totally recommend “Hunter X Hunter”!! It has a great story, strong characters (not even just the main cast, there are a lot of awesome and lovable minor characters), and not a lot of filler episodes (there’s like maybe 3??)!

10 out of 10… would recommend!!

“Attack on Titan” Season 2 Premiere

With every ending there is always a new beginning and that true even in this situation. Just as we were finishing up “Hunter X Hunter” I saw notifications across social media sharing that the premier of season two of “Attack on Titan” premiered this weekend. I of course was excited as any other fan but I will be honest…I just hopped on the “Attack on Titan” boat last year. So I only had to wait for season two (because of course I loved it) for a few months, not the four years everyone else had to wait. In a way I’m kind of glad I didn’t watch it until recently, I would have gotten so impatient with waiting! But season two is finally here and after watching episode 27 (S2E1) I am so so ready for the rest of the season! After finishing the episode (don’t worry I won’t spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t seen the episode), the first thing I thought was that this season is going to be great.

I also read online that this season is said to be shorter than season 1? If it’s jam pack of awesome edge of seat action then I’m totally in! Honestly, no matter how long you’ve been in the fan boat, we as fans just want to see the characters again back in action kicking some Titan butt!

Conclusion

Well I hope you guys enjoyed this little chit chat with me! I really can’t wait to see what “Attack on Titan” has in store with us, and how many times it really does rip my heart out and tear it (the emotions… all the feelings). If you have any suggestions of animes (or even mangas) to watch while waiting for a new episode to air (I don’t like the waiting game, I love just binge watching all the episodes) let me know in the comments below! I would love to watch another great anime! I hope you have a wonderful evening and I will see you all in the next post!

Until next post,
XOXO
